Job description.
My contract in Algeria was for scaffolding supervisor. My main task was to bring the sites scaffolding and scaffolding workforce up to western health and safety standards. This involved teaching the 80 strong workforce basic scaffolding procedures. Scaffolding foreman were given more advanced lessons. During my time there we had a high percentage of work increase through work methods used on sites in Scotland. Our workforce was dramatically reduced due to planning. Our health and safety record was dramatically reduced. All aspects of the running of the scaffolding erecting/ordering/planning/inspection/drawing/training was carried out to a very high standard.

Job description.
When I started with the company as a scaffolder I worked on sites around Orkney two years later I was promoted to foreman
We soon secured an offshore contract for Orkney scaffolding generating more than double the workload. The company was well established now with an increase of 15 staff my role was to take control of all offshore works. I gained valuable people management skills here also gaining offshore experience. We covered all aspects off health and safety.
My main duties within Orkney scaffolding were to oversee all aspects of the offshore contract.

I gained an apprenticeship within a family business as a scaffolder my duties was labouring and learning from the scaffolders our work was mainly carried out in a power station requiring high standards of health and safety. While working here I was released on block release to college to gain my certs after completing my apprenticeship I was giving the position as squad charge hand which involved liasing with main contractor and receiving weekly work schedules.

PERSONAL PROFILE
My main goal is to secure long-term employment overseas. Over the past year some of my spare time has gone into property development. Which has been a success although I prefer the scaffolding trade. Our joint venture has a portfolio of 5 properties two of which we currently still own/rent. The rest of my spare time is taken up with my family. My partner and I have two boys aged 5 years and 6 month we also have a girl of 4 years. My hobbies include paragliding, golf, shooting.
