My duties include developing and providing technical support to outside processors to comply with automotive industry's quality and delivery requirements; and responsible for negotiating cost and delivery conditions for third party rework of materials.
Responsible for representing outside processors on behalf of USS at technical and commercial meetings with General Motors de Mexico at their Ramos Arizpe Plant.

Design and implementation of Quality Assurance Programs for the following steel and line pipe suppliers for Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex): Altos Hornos de Mexico, Hylsa Tubular Products Division, and Procesadora de Aceros Rassini.
Responsible for the inspection, testing and Quality Assurance for the "El Cuchillo – Monterrey" water project. Main duties were 100 % inspection during manufacturing of 105 Km. of 84" diameter line pipe, internal and external coating application, field welding and hydrostatic testing; as well as the quality control during installation of six pumping stations.
Mayor achievements: Keeping the company alive and management of all financial and operating budgets cash flow and debt negotiation with banks and the Federal Government during the 1994 financial crisis in Mexico.
Responsible for the successful management of the entire ISO 9002 certification process for the company.

As Operations' VP, was responsible for three line pipe manufacturing mills, three coating mills (one fusion bonded and two regular lines), and one special products plant. The following managers reported to me: Production, Industrial and Plant Engineering, Production Control and Programming, and Warehouse and Shipping.
We designed a predictive maintenance system to work night shifts, and decreased production shifts to two, instead of the usual three; increasing production by 10 %, with a reduction in personnel of 40 %.
As Quality Assurance Manager, was responsible for the design and implementation of the ISO 9001 program, and testing and inspection. Three managers were supervised directly, with a total of 120 people in the area.
Started selling laboratory and inspection services in 1981 to make Quality Assurance self sufficient.
As Chief Metallurgist, was responsible for the development of welding and coating procedures, operation of the laboratory, and design of steel for line pipe applications; as well as its quality control and inspection at mills in Europe, Asia and South America.
