Materials Supervisor – Sudan Operations (Jan 2001 – May 2003)
Carried out activities related towards the optimization of stock levels at the lowest investment costs consistent with company operational objectives. Managed the flow of information entered within the materials management system. Ensured that procedures were developed and maintained for the continuous review and amendments of stock levels in line with the changing conditions and requirements. Investigated overages/shortages, and damaged inventory. Directed cycle counts for inventory. Controlled computer system developments, input and output activities relation to the inventory system. Aided in the control of operating costs through feedback to the various departments on material availability. Coordinated with Procurement and Logistics in order to ensure materials arrive in timely manner.
Supervised warehouse operations with an inventory value of $45M USD.
Training, motivating, and supervising of Sudanese Nationals and Expats.
Introduced and created process improvements for the tracking of outstanding
Purchase Order's, due to the limitations of the Inventory Control System.

Materials Analyst/Coordinator – Canadian Operations (Nov 1999 – Jan 2001)
Responsible for reconciling the Inventory and General Ledger accounts for all the Canadian Operations on a monthly basis. Investigated any discrepancies that occurred with the General Ledger and Perpetual Inventory. Coordinated with Field Buyers on all matters of inventory control: sales, issuing, disposal and rentals of company assets. Reviewed costs that are posted to controllable and non-controllable accounts and that all the charges to the warehouses were correct. Performed annual Physical Inventory counts.
Managed inventory within a 2% accuracy as per TLM goals. A major accomplishment considering there was no inventory control system in place for 3 months, before joining the company, and there were many issues of missing paperwork for materials received, issued and returned.
Developed a new inventory control system with the use of spreadsheets after CENDEC was deemed unsuitable for inventory control. Short-term solution until a new system was implemented.
Successfully integrated and reconciled the assets of a newly acquired company.
Examined Trucking costs in order to calculate savings of $32,000/Year for Field Operations
Achieved sales of $40,000 for assets no longer in use by Field Operations

Fixed Asset Accountant (Contract Position)
Processed and analyzed material and equipment transactions for the Downstream. This included the sales, write-offs and transfers of company assets. Reconciling the Receivable Accounts for all Business Areas of the Downstream. Analyzing AFE's and creating equipment records within assets to ensure proper control of assets.
Streamlined Spreadsheets and Reports to ensure more accurate reconciliation's of Business Areas.
Initiated a company policy on the sale of ESSO trademark signs to owners.
Extensive trouble-shooting of Receivable accounts. Analyzed and reconciled balances that were outstanding before 1998.
