WORK EXPERIENCE
Petrogas E&P LLC is an Oil producing operating company and is a part of MB Group of Companies headed by a leading Omani Businessman. This company hold two Blocks in Sultanate of Oman, one (taken over from Elf), and produces around 2200 barrels per day and the other, where the company holds 50% share in a joint venture with CNODC, China in Daleel Petroleum Company (Daleel which is the operator) that produces at the rate of - 16,000 barrels per day and is expected to increase the production to 30,000 barrels per day by Year 2010.

Also, Petrogas has embarked on an expansion plan through acquisitions both within Oman as well as international buy-outs of exploratory and development fields to raise the production to 100,000 barrels per day within the next 5 years.

Since Mar 2005 till date: Finance Manager, Petrogas Exploration & Production LLC, E&P arm of MB Group, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman

As Finance Manager, I am entrusted with the following main responsibilities:
1. Corporate Governance of both the existing Blocks from a financial perspective
2. Overseeing the finance and accounting of both existing blocks and handling consolidation of E&P companies at the corporate level
3. Evaluating new business opportunities and projects. I am a part of a business development team that deals with
a) Farm-ins / Farm-outs
b) Data room visits
c) Technical and financial evaluation of Exploration and Development blocks spread across different Continents
d) Targeting acquisition of Oil & Gas companies in certain markets such as AIM / India / Far East.
e) Participation in bidding rounds in Sultanate of Oman, Yemen, Qatar, India, Sudan etc.

In the course of my work experience, I have been a part of more than 30 such evaluations till date. The regions covered included most of Oman, many blocks in Yemen, some countries in Africa, some farm-in / farm-out opportunities with Indian companies, joint venture operations with CNPC

4. Was a coordinator and team player in competing for tenders/bids for Small Fields in Sultanate of Oman
5. Managing the treasury function of the E&P arm especially for both the Blocks.
6. Handling the finance function of sourcing for funds for E&P division requirements. I was a key member of the team that coordinated with International Finance Corporation, USA to conclude a Term Loan of US$40 million for one of our group companies, Mazoon Petrogas SAOC. I am still the coordinator with IFC for complying with conditions subsequent to disbursement of loan.
7. I am the Secretary of the Joint Operating Committee of the Shareholders of Block 5. The joint operating committee is a committee constituted by a joint operating agreement where by the high level representatives of both shareholders of Petrogas and CNODC control the affairs of Daleel by meeting once every three months in Oman and Beijing alternatively.
8. Coordinating with operations department in lining up the Work Program / Budget and act as a liaison between the operating departments and Ministry of Oil & Gas, Sultanate of Oman.
9. To perform the role of Coach to train the new Chief Accountant (Omani) as well as other staff.

From Jul 2003 to Feb 2005 Chief Accountant, Petrogas LLC, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman
As Chief Accountant, I had the following responsibilities:

1. Supervision of Finance and Purchase department with a staff strength of five and ensure prompt and accurate accounting and reporting of both Petrogas and Mazoon Petrogas SAOC (subsidiaries of Petrogas E&P LLC)
2. Act as a liaison with the Ministry of Oil and Gas (MOG) and be the coordinator with our technical department to get necessary approvals from MOG. This responsibility includes presentation of Budgets to Ministry on an annual basis.
3. Submission of all routine and non-routine reports to MOG on a regular basis
4. In charge of HR administrative functions
5. To act as a coach for some of the Omani Staff and train them to master their routine responsibilities
6. Management of Tender process starting from circulation of tender, opening bids, financial evaluation, seeking approvals from MOG for the selected bidder
7. Implementation of Oracle on functions that were not yet computerized. For example, Purchase Order Module
8. To liaise with MB Group Corporate Finance to manage the cash flow and finances esp. Loans from Banks abroad, inter company transfer of funds etc.
9. Liaising with legal department and handling taxation matters of the company.

PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENTS:
1. Successfully coordinated with IFC and was instrumental in our group company getting a loan of US$40 Million.
2. In a short period, have assimilated the complex details of "Production Sharing Agreement" for different companies spread over different continents
3. Was a coordinator for "Small Fields Bid" within Sultanate of Oman and liaised with Petroleum Development, Oman, Oil Field Consultants in UK and Oman as well the personnel within the Group.
4. Submission of Reports to Government on a quarterly basis within deadlines
5. As Joint Operating Committee (JOC) Secretary, organized the Joint Operating Committee meeting in Beijing, China successfully in October 2003, thrice in 2004 and twice in 2005.
6. Have played a significant role in "Changing the production sequence of drilling new producer and appraisal wells" in our joint venture company. This change in drilling sequence is estimated to benefit the company over a period of 2004-2010.

July 1997 to July 2003 - Head of Accounts, Al Mansoori Specialized Engineering LLC., Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

The Al Mansoori Group, a twenty seven year old company, is engaged in the provision of Oil field Services and Supplies and has its presence all over the Gulf through its subsidiaries and joint ventures. Having employee strength of around 500 employees, the company is one of the fore players in the provision of oil field services in U.A.E.

As Head of Accounts, I had the following responsibilities:
1. Supervision of Accounts department with a staff strength of fifteen and ensure prompt and accurate accounting and reporting of holding and subsidiary companies.
2. Ensure that the Accounting department operates within Budget
3. Project and monitor the Group's cash flows and cash position on a regular basis including cash planning and collection of receivables.
