PROJECT EXECUTION:

Some Of The Major Projects Involve Complete Machine Automation In Following Applications:

a) Injection Moulding Machine (OEM)
These machines are large capacity high pressure molding machines. The major manufacturers are DGP Windsor (Formerly Klockner Windsor), Cincinnati Milacron, and etc. to name a few. The major automation portion includes product selection according to the requirement of application, study of critical operation & implementation so as to achieve highest accuracy in the operation sequence of the machine & accuracy desired by the user. The job involves product installation in electrical panels, wiring as per guidelines in product catalogue keeping in view all safety precautions, testing all electrical connections, wiring, software development & download in the hardware, trials on step to step basis & then finally running the machine up to its maximum potential. After the installation phase, proper maintenance guidelines are given to the user so as to maintain the equipment. Normally regular software modifications are not required but in case of necessity changes can be done as per user requirement. Users are imparted with hands-on on the troubleshooting of hardware during fault, software diagnosis Online as well Offline. I have programmed for DGP Windsor machines & familiar with the operational sequence of the machine.

b) Blow Moulding Machine (OEM)
These machines are very much similar as far as the products are concerned, but the method of producing the product is different. In this application air is blow in semi-solid Plastic/PVC material, which inflates to take the shape of the die so that the ultimate result is the product. Major manufacturers are DGP & Cincinnati Milacron. These customers are big OEM's who have their customers all over the globe. Our job involves connection of our products in the panel, wiring in the controllers as per assignment & drawings, software development, trials & finally completing the project. These projects may take 7-10 days time depending on the criticality in operation desired by the user/customer. After final commissioning the training to the concerned engineers are imparted so that they are able to maintain the machines in good & healthy condition.

c) Compressor Control (OEM)
In these machines, the main use of our products is utilized in controlling the pressure level in airline as per requirement in factory premises. The application involves controlling of compressor by Loading/Unloading mechanism so that the air requirement which is measured in CFM (Cubic Feet Meter) is controlled & all those equipments that utilize AIR get sufficient amount of AIR for operation. This Load / Unload is carried out by checking the actual pressure in AIR line & then Start & Stop the development of AIR inside the Compressor unit. The major customer I have handled is Chicago Pneumatic India Limited (Now Atlas Copco India Limited). The job involved the same method of studying the application, designing the program as per selected hardware to suite the application & erect & commission the hardware at OEM end. After final commissioning the further jobs were done by engineers of the OEM. I had to keep a close interaction with these OEM's whether they are following the guidelines as instructed by us or not. The wiring method, precautionary measures while powering the hardware, panel ventilation in panel, wire routing in cable ducts as per standard norms, etc. so as to increase operational life of the equipment. Training to OEM engineers while commissioning at their End User sites, & related troubleshooting if any during the commissioning stage was imparted.
d) Surface Grinding Machine (End User)
This application involves use of LVDT, as the accuracy desired is very high i.e. in MICRONS. In this application the product is fine grinded which is a part of the final product. The application done by me is for VINYAS make SPM, which was installed at on end user. In the application the response of the automation products also plays a major role as the application involves very-very high accuracy of measurement.
e) Food Processing Machine (OEM)
These machines are artificial manufacturers of Dal, Rice, Noodles, etc.using large capacity DIES of these end products & the role of the PLC & Automation part is to carry out critical measurement of weights & measures, Mixing of different products in different ratios & finally producing the end products. The features of the automation product, their responsiveness to act fast on changes in external sensors are major design aspect in selecting a particular model of the hardware. The main customer is an OEM dealing in PROJECTS of NESTLE, CADBURY. The name of the OEM is AXTEL (Advanced Extrufoil Technology & Exports Limited) based at Halol near Baroda.
f) Extrusion Press (End User)
These are heavy & high-pressure extruders for manufacturing aluminum sections normally used in doors & windows linings. The automation is only sequential, as majority of design aspects have been considered in Hydraulics. The automation part includes only the digital Inputs & Outputs, which are designed, based on the sequential requirement.
g) Blister Packaging Machine (OEM)
The name is for Packing Tablets/Capsules in specially made wrappings through use of Automation & control. The machine has DC motor which move at very high torque, accurate position mechanism, Tablets are then filled & the whole section is passed through heating units which seals the boundaries so that the end product made is duly packed & safe. The major automation criticality involves maintaining records of the end product manufactured in hardcopy & the PLC is interfaced with Printer so that the results are recorded in hard copy for further reference & use by the user. The major customer handled is Karnavati engineering, Ahmedabad.

h) Pharmaceutical Machine (OEM)
The machines are Auto-Cota & Fluid Bed Drier machines. These machines have specific operations depending on the requirement. The former involves coating of tablets & capsules while the latter is used for drying the powder of Tablets before the tablets are finally made. The critical part in the Automation is the temperature, which is tuned so that the products get exact temperature & the control is PID action so that the desired temperature is maintained. The customer's like SOLACE is a good OEM exporting machines to other countries apart from their domestic customers in pharmacy sector. The other projects are Multicolumn & Sterliser projects, which are on the same line, expect different sequential part & use. The automation has again one major similarity, that of printer interface & even in some jobs have A.C.Drive interface on RS 422/RS485 for faster data transfer & quick action. The MAJOR customer being Pharmalab Engineering India Limited, Ahmedabad supplying their machines to major customers like, CADILA, CIPLA, RANBAXY, etc, to name a few i) Textile Machine (OEM)
The machines include Draw Frame, Ring Frame, Cone Winders, etc. All these machines are high-speed application where accuracy is a major factor. The automation product has to be selected such that the existing application can be proven with installation of the product as well offering new features so that the real justification can be met. The users have many machines & the current feature is that these machines are hooked to a central PC with SCADA base logic so that the data of all the machines can be stored & recorded on computer & the data's processed for further use. Each machine has independent control & each controllers are then hooked through RS485 interface to a single office computer where all data's can be viewed at one time & further processing of all those data's can be made. The major customer being Parasrampuria International, Indore & Alidhra, Surat.

j) FOUNDARY MACHINE (OEM)
These machines are used for making aluminium castings for use in vehicles of four stroke, etc. as well for making cores of sand, which are then utilized for making IRON castings for use in different applications. The latest machines are LPDC (Low pressure die casting) machines, which are used for making aluminum castings, majority of which are used nowadays in bikes & four wheelers so as to reduce the weight of engine & increase life & performance of the machine. The major features involve PID pressure control for faster response & change with reference to actual pressure.

SUMMARY:
As a whole in all projects independently handled, the majority components constitute are the Programmable logic controllers that are selected so as to suite the application. The features offered by the products so as to give better performance & advantages to the customer. The criticalities of application, its simultaneous programming so as to meet the requirement, faster response, are major advantages of product selection & their use in application. The documentation, assignment of logic, drawings of the application, sequence, logic design, programming, installation, wiring inspection as per standard norms, measures of precaution, maintenance, troubleshooting, training on hardware as well software are the areas of attention that forms the total job execution. In almost all applications customers are looking for good techno-commercial offers, good products which can be anything from simple small I/O product to complicated redundant type product, good team to ensure safe installation & commissioning, excellent after sales service & training, proper guidance at each & every step of customer requirement are the major features on which we emphasize & these features have made our name in market.
