ACHIEVEMENTS
I conceived the design of a 730MW CHP; with a thermal efficiency of over 70% the project will be the largest true CHP in Europe. During the development I presented arguments to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, to rescind the prohibition moratorium on new gas power stations in the UK.
I was Project Manager during the replacement of 28 x 16" Emergency Shutdown and isolation valves at the BP gas reception terminal. Temporary plugging of the main gas inlet line was achieved whilst operating at half capacity with full line pressure of 120bar.

As Technical Consultant, I am responsible for troubleshooting the design development delays. My main role is to expedite the overdue design deliverables. A secondary role is to be the Single Point of Contact between the Project and Client and co-ordinate between the Project Director and Site Team.
Aughinish, Ireland 160MW Open Cycle CHP plant, with 300t/h export steam capacity.

2003 - 2004 AMEC - OIL GAS & PROCESS
Project Manager (Single Point Authority)
As part of the "Federal Agreement" between AMEC and BP I was seconded to "BP" as SPA for the "North Sea - Central Area Transmission System gas-receiving terminal, Teesside. The "CATS" terminal is one of three natural gas entry points into the UK.
I had Project Management responsibility for operational plant modifications and outage upgrades. I had full budgetary and manpower control as well as overseeing Health & Safety issues.
Teesside, UK 1700 mmscfd Natural Gas Processing Facility (value £2m).

2002 - 2003 SKANSKA WHESSOE
Bid Manager/ Project Manager
I was responsible for the technical and commercial proposal for the turnkey design and construction of a LNG tank project. I created the project execution plans and developed system specifications and operating procedures from the Client specification.
Tannguh, Indonesia 2 x 130,000m3 Double Containment LNG tanks (value $250m).

2000 - 2002 CONOCO
Principal Project Engineer
I was Design Authority for the entire CCGT project, constructed within an operational refinery boundary. Responsibilities included the conceptual design and turbine configuration. In addition I simulated plant operations to collect data for the fuel/ power/ steam correlation and to justify the project economic model, this was used in the Fuel supply/ Off-take and Tolling Agreements.
As Owners Representative in the EPC Contractors office I was responsible for co-ordinating the interface between the Owner's Project Team and the Main Contractor's Project Team.
Immingham, UK 730MW CCGT CHP plant with 11km high pressure steam pipeline and 900t/h export steam capacity (value $350m).

1999 - 2000 MOTT MACDONALD GROUP
Senior Project Engineer
My responsibilities included the conceptual design, FEED studies, process design, construction management and site supervision for various Desalination, Oil & Gas and Power Projects. As the Banks' Engineer I reviewed plant design and advised on contractual implications.

1996 – 1999 STONE & WEBSTER ENGINEERING CO LTD

I was involved in the conceptual design, FEED studies and process design of various Oil & Gas and Power Generation Projects. I developed the project execution plans and wrote the system specifications and operating procedures for the Client. I was responsible for co-ordinating the Construction Team and answering any queries from the Client and our suppliers/sub-contractors.

I developed the oil systems for the first generation single shaft CCGTs. I was responsible for FEED studies and detail design of CCGT power generation projects. I wrote the system specifications and developed the P&IDs, PFDs, Process Data Sheets and the mechanical equipment lists.

Main responsibility was writing tender documentation and system specifications, selection of the main equipment and design of the machinery space. I was specifically responsible for the design of the aviation fuel systems for patrol vessels and the design of the inert gas systems for a FPSO.
