Project Engineer (Electrical & Instrumentation)

Responsibilities:
* Acting construction manger during the construction manager leave.
* Coordinating and controlling all financial and operational aspects of assigned project, by liaising with other engineering departments as well as clients. Supervising engineers under purview, addressing design anomalies and onsite problems.
* Planning and budgeting, manpower, finance and timelines for E&I activities. Reviews productivity, contract & tender documents/responses, technical & financial evaluation reports.
* Review subcontractor agreement and Liaise with subcontractor for schedules and work execution plan.
* Reporting on a daily and weekly basis to the upper management.
* Researching, identifying, designing, installing, purchasing, developing, testing and maintaining electrical measurement and control systems. Devising ways to control mechanisms by applying automation techniques and computer-aided processes.
* Preparing manuals of specifications, maintenance procedures, trouble-shooting manuals for construction and refurbishment of new and existing setups.
* Creating equipment/Installation specifications and control philosophies & function descriptions, instrumentation data sheets for, transmitters, switches, Control Valves etc.
* Ensure all work comply with quality standards and work carried out in accordance to the installation test plan.
* Technical background in Completing Pre-commissioning. Using DCS System, TDC3000, PLC Modicon and Triconex, to perform loop and functional checks on all motor controls, pumps, compressors and other equipments, for all analogue and digital inputs/outputs. Verifying operational parameters and alarm/shut down set points. Computing key design parameters and personally modifying as per the operational narratives.
* Implementing modifications in existing design setups to address any discrepancy and adhering to client specifications
* Preparing and implementing shut down schedule
* Prepare mobilization and demobilization plan for manpower and equipments.

1.RMSGPP – Rass Laffan to Mesaeed Sweet Gas Pipeline Project. 2004

Position: E&I Section Engineer
* The project is new installation of a 120 Km Sweet Gas Pipeline from Ras Laffan to Mesaeed Sweet Gas Pipe Line Project. With installation of three new stations (SBV – Section Block Valve Station) and extension of five existing stations. The scope involves instruments installation, PLC, SCADA system, F&G system, Telecom. System, Transformers, Switchgear installation, lightings and cathodic protection.

2. QAFCO-4 Expansion – Qatar (Q4) -QAFCO – 4. 2003
Client: KRUPP UHDE/QAFCO S.A.Q.
Contract Value: US$ 77 Million
Position: Instrument Site Engineer
* The Project is the third phase expansion of an existing fertilizer plant.

3. Project: Polyethylene, 1 – hexane & Off Sites Projects - Q-CHEM (PEP) 2001
Position: Instrument Site Engineer
* The project involved the construction & pre-commissioning of complete Polyethylene, 1- Hexanes & Off Sites.
* Executed more than 7000 DCS and Triconex PLC Loops as a part of pre-commissioning activity.

4. Project: QVC Vinyl Project at Messaieed – Qatar 2000
Client: Qatar Vinyl Company
Contract Value: US$ 100 Million
Position: Instrument Site Engineer
* Engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of a complete process plant based on ethylene as feed-stock. Producing 220, 000 tons of VCM and 180, 000 tons of EDC per year. Also a complete chlorine producing 270, 000 tons per year.
* Executed more than 4000 DCS loops.

5. Project: Onshore Gas Development Project (OGDII)-Phase II, Abu Dhabi- United Arab Emirates. 1999
Client: Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC)
Contract Value: US$ 75 Million
Position: Instrument Site Engineer
* The project involved the full construction of civil works, steel erection, piping works, product pipelines, mechanical works, electrical and instrumentation works, modification and revamping of OGD I, as well as pre-commissioning.

6. Project: AROMAX BENZENE & CYCLOHEXANE Facilities Project-Jubail (SCPP) 1998
Client: Chevron Petrochemical / Chiyoda
Value: US$ 75 Million
Position: Jr. Instrument Engineer
* Engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of grass-root 480, 000 MT/year of Benzene and 220, 000 MT/year of Cyclohexane facility at Jubail. It also involved construction management of the administration building.

Highlights:
* Rewired the control for 6.6Kv Switchgear as per the vendor details in order to make the system operational as per the design philosophy.
