Operations Superintendent – PetroChina – Jambi Province, Indonesia

Oversee construction and commission a 240 mmscfd, 25000 bbl/d NGL state of the art sour gas (CO2) processing facility (utilizing membrane technology) and field compressor stations in the jungle on the island of Sumatra. Train the national employees (10 per shift) from junior operators to panel operators on how to run the facility safely and maximize production. Write SOP's for all manner of equipment utilized in the field and in the processing facility. Work on the development of safety procedures to be used in the plant and throughout the field.
Also assist training all operations staff on the use of the JDEdwards maintenance management system.

Asked to join the JDEdwards Project to implement the Asset Tracking and Maintenance software modules at the various EnCana field sites which included the Ecuador field. This entailed developing a team of 8, budgeting, training of staff members and users of the system. This also required coordination with other departments such as finance, procurement and HR due to the interconnection and links to other modules.

Production Foreman - Amber Energy Inc./EnCana Corp. Pelican Lake Heavy Oil Project - Pelican Lake/Wabasca, AB

Responsible for the entire field operation since inception. This included developing infrastructure, hiring and training of personnel, camp development, and work environment.
Responsible for a 25 man operational & maintenance team on an 8&6 rotational schedule, involved in the development and daily operation of the heavy oil reserves in the Pelican Lake field.
Development included Pad/Lease set-ups, bringing on line and optimizing an expanding field (initially 8 wells to over 300 wells), which were drilled over 3.5 years.
Oversaw the construction of an 80000 bbl/d oil battery, infield pipelines, gas gathering system, compression and dehydration facilities plus a sales terminal, 20" sales pipeline and refit of the Nipisi terminal in conjunction with engineering.
Implemented a SCADA system for the entire operation (ie: field, battery and sales pipeline).
I was also responsible for the safety of +/- 500 men working in a live field during the facilities and pipeline construction.
Developed safety/environmental systems for the Pelican Lake area in accordance with the corporate safety program.
Daily operation includes: Plan budgets, manage and monitor costs with the Area Superintendent and co-workers to keep lifting costs low ($2.94/boe). Receive and utilize feedback from key staff. Ensure that all personnel get proper guidance and training. Monitor daily production to ensure the field is optimized. Troubleshoot well and equipment problems and coordinate the required maintenance. Maintain good shift and cross-shift communications. Maintain continuity with all other departments. Oversee the 72 man base camp.

I was involved in rewriting outdated SOP's. Total combined inlet of 100 mmscfd (80 mmscfd sales) sour gas with acid gas injection (2.5 mmscfd) and Modified Claus sulphur plant (40 tonnes/d). The new plant is PC controlled utilizing the WINLogic operating software. Also monitor an oil & gas field of over 100 wells using the Mobiltex SCADA System.

Lead Operator - Dubai Natural Gas Company (Dugas)/Scimitar Oils - Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Responsible for a team of 12 and all parameters associated with running a 308 mmscfd sour gas processing facility with deep cut, 25000 bpd LPG, and 108 tonnes/day sulphur plant safely and to maximum efficiency using Honeywell's TDC 3000 DCS. Involved in engineering design support, construction, commissioning, and start up of the sulphur processing facility and a 10 mile 24" pipeline project. Authored the start up procedures for the sulphur recovery unit. Plus coordinated all maintenance to be performed in the entire facility and managed operational budget.

Involved in commissioning and start up of a new 70 mmscfd sour gas processing plant with a 300 tonne/day sulphur plant safely and efficiently utilizing the Honeywell TDC 2000 with a 3000 interface. Co-authored the plant operational procedures. Coordination of all plant maintenance and directly responsible for a 5 man crew. Also monitored a gas field of over 50 wells with the use of Sentrol's SCADA system.
