(KPO) is a 40 year joint venture between British Gas, AGIP, Chevron and Lukoil to develop the Karachaganak field (located in northeastern Kazakhstan) which is estimated to contain 1.2 billion tonnes of oil and condensate and 1.35 trillion m3 of gas. The field pressure is 460 bar and contains 4% H2S.
JUN '05 - JUL '07 Project Engineer, Debottlenecking Project, Engineering and Project Management Department
* Project budget: $100 million to end of 2007. Project scope is to de-bottleneck all aspects of the production facilities (two processing plants, sour gas re-injection station and all gathering, trunk and export pipelines) to increase overall capacity to 110% at 95% availability. Main scopes included detailed process simulations (HYSYS and PIPESYM), DCS control system optimisation (Honeywell) and power system modelling and optimisation studies (ETAP). Updating P&IDs, PDFs, preparation of detailed purchase requisitions (heat exchangers, replacement trays for process columns, large diameter high pressure line pipe, valves, pig traps) and contract preparation for vendor representatives and specialised process engineering studies. Reports with recommendations were submitted for management approval for FEED and detailed design using external engineering companies. Responsible for project budget, schedule, reporting, inter-discipline coordination and liaison with external engineering contractors.
AGIP KCO (KAZ. NORTH CASPIAN OPERATING CO.), ALMATY, KAZAKHSTAN (KASHAGAN FIELD DEVEL. PROJECT)
Kashagan is a 40 year joint venture between AGIP, the Government of Kazakhstan and various other partners to develop the super-giant Kashagan field (located 80km offshore in the Caspian Sea) which is estimated to contain 13 billion tonnes of oil. The field pressure is 900 bar and contains 20% H2S.

* the initial phase of the onshore project concerns the design of the power generation station for the offshore oil field; generation capacity is 245MW @ 40C and will provided by five GE Frame 6B gas turbines and two Nuovo Pignone steam turbines.
* chair and minute weekly progress meetings with the Execution Contractor (EC) and ECMT representatives of the engineering disciplines, track, check and consolidate comments on EC-produced drawings from all engineering disciplines, ensure the timely input of such comments into the web-based document control system, track and resolve in a timely manner all Technical Queries, Change Notices and Company Instructions associated with the detailed design of the power station.
