PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
Over 20 years of work experience in the field of Seismic exploration including 2D and 3D, Seismic project planning, HSE and Crew management, land and marine acquisition QC, QC of data processing, feasibility and technical studies and software testing:
11 years international field seismic data acquisition (Middle East – Saudi Arabia) in desert, swamps and cities. 9 years (India) in marine and TZ geophysical data acquisition, processing and QC. Experience in designing data flow and software development for QC of seismic data acquisition.
Good IT experience in the use of various software packages including Windows 2000/XP, Unix, Linux, MS Office, ArcView, ArcGIS, Excel Macros etc, work stations and the associated geophysical software – Geoland, Geovecteur etc., Visual Basic programming for various applications.
EXPERIENCE
ARABIAN GEOPHYSICAL & SURVEYING COMPANY (ARGAS) 2007 – TO DATE
2007 – to date Saudi Arabia,Aramco: As Party Manager - Supervising a team of 650 subordinates engaged in 3D Vibroseis data acquisition, coordination of field operations for 3D Seismic crew, HSE and Crew management
Direct, guide and impalement land seismic survey operations, paying particular attention to cost and quality. Supervise compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements in the field. Conversant with all the HSE rules and procedures.
Continuously monitor the standards of HSE within the crew, thus ensuring that they remain at the required level.
Responsible for providing logistic support and planning.
Credited with the key role of leading the Human Resources Training & Development Programs.
Proactive in implementing and compliance with HSE Objectives.
Management of Crew and Vibroseis Data acquisition operations.
2000 – 2006 Saudi Arabia,Aramco: As QC on a 2D & 3D Vibroseis Crew - implementation of quality assurance procedures to ensure the highest standard of data quality at various levels of data acquisition phase.
Execute daily operations of quality control of vibroseis data acquisition, field 3D planning and design using Geoland; and field Seismic data processing using Geovecteur, familiar with Sercel 408 recording equipment. QC checks and compilation of SPS files and supporting documents, and preparation of final shipment to Client.
Survey planning and design using Geoland: Preplanning, QC of Survey data, "scripting" the geometry layout for recording.
Field seismic data processing using Geovecteur: QC of the field tapes/transcriptions and identifying desert statics solution, velocity analysis, multiples elimination, stack etc. Pre- and post-stack time (PSTM) and depth (PSDM) migration. Skills in statics analysis and corrections in refraction statics.
Familiarity with Vibroseis acquisition hardware: Recording system - SN 388 with 480 channels (2D) to Sercel 408 XL with 3880 channels (3D), using 5 Mertz M26 Vibrators per each fleet of 2.
Main duties include the following;
* Ensure that quality standards are maintained as per the Client requirement.
* To see that safety standards are maintained and environmental restrictions are observed.
* Quality Control of the spatial coverage of data during acquisition phase, like positional QC of Source & Receivers, QC of the Vibrator sweeps, Radio & Hardwire Similarity Tests, Geophone SMT & field checks etc.
* Liaison with all parties on a daily basis.
* Ensuring that all equipment meets the manufacturer specifications through ongoing daily, weekly and monthly tests.
* Positional QC of Survey data & preplanning using Geoland, and also digitize & generating script files for Recorder to shoot.
* Developing software for various QC Applications and also support to other Departments on the Crew.
1996 - 2000 Saudi Arabia,Aramco: As Party Manager - Supervising a team of 250 subordinates engaged in 2D Vibroseis data acquisition, coordination of field operations for 2D Seismic crew and crew management.
Responsible for providing logistic support and planning.
Familiar with all the HSE rules and procedures of the Company and those of the Client. With the assistance of the HSE Advisor, plan and carry out, on a regular basis, HSE training in all aspects of crew operations.

OIL & NATURAL GAS CORPORATION (ONGC), INDIA 1984-1996
Geophysicist – Marine Data acquisition & Processing and QC
1990 - 1996 India(ONGC): As Senior Geophysicist (offshore), the main focus of responsibility was in marine data acquisition and processing, quality control of Seismic Data Processing.
At various times was assigned as Consulting QC Geophysicist of offshore geophysical data acquisition by various contract ships – Western Islander, Western Odyssey, Western Europa, Oceanographic research vessel M.V. Sagar Kanya. Marine seismic data acquisition QC included, Navigational QC, Source (Airgun) QC, Bathymetric checks & calibration, Streamer depth control & QC etc.
Marine Gravity & Magnetic data acquisition and QC.
Marine seismic data processing onboard the Vessel M V Sagar Sandhani. The onboard Seismic data processing facilities used were; ND Computer – ND-560/CX with Sintran III – VSX/500K Operating System using NORSEIS software. Full processing included – finalizing processing parameters, velocity analysis, FK & Migration.
Consulting QC Geophysicist for Seismic data processing undertaken by various Contractors, and finalizing processing parameters.
Associated during various stages with Synergic Interpretation Group for preparation of structure, contour, isopach and other maps.
1989 Vietnam Petro-Vietnam: QC Geophysicist of offshore seismic data acquisition contract in Southern China seas for Vietnamese Government. Associated with Gravity & Magnetic data compilation, reduction and processing.
1988 India(ONGC): As Geophysicist was initially assigned to Operations and was Observer associated with Offshore Seismic data acquisition. The Recording system was DFS V, and fully familiar with navigation and various Instruments & tests and trouble shooting 'Streamer cable'.
1984 - 1987 India (ONGC): Seismic Data Processing and QC: Using TATA-ELXSI M-6400 machine with DIGICON application software for processing 2D marine data. Extensive testing for finalising processing parameters. The source data set was airguns, and the main emphasis was to define processing techniques for removing shallow water related multiples and water reverberations and inter-bed multiples and apply data processing techniques to improve the S/N ratio.
NATIONAL REMOTE SENSING AGENCY (NRSA), INDIA 1983-1984
Asst. Engineer – Aeromagnetic Data acquisition & Processing
1983 - 1984 India, (NRSA): Aero-magnetic data acquisition, compilation and processing. Using DC-3 aircraft, acquired Aero-magnetic data over South India, shallow coastal waters etc. Navigational QC and contouring the data after final reduction.
RESEARCH WORK
Participated in Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India sponsored research project 'Research & Development of Nuclear Techniques for the analysis of rocks and ores'.
Full time Research Scholar from 1982 – 1983 at Centre of Exploration Geophysics, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. The research topic 'Application of Radiometric Methods for Non-Radioactive Ores'.
