Consultant Night Drilling Supervisor (JM Drilling Ltd) – Oilexco North Sea Ltd
NDSV working on three Semi – submersible rigs in Central North Sea drilling Subsea HPHT Exploration wells in addition to NPNT Exploration, Appraisal and development wells. Directional drilling, including horizontal geo-steering. Reservoir evaluation and coring. Full range of well testing including HPHT gas. Sandscreen completions. Additionally acted as Day Drilling Supervisor as and when required.

Previous Position (Dec 2005 – Jun 2007)
Well Engineer Offshore – Shell EPE
Consolidated skills as NDSV working on Semi – submersible rig delivering top quartile performance on two HPHT Exploration wells. Contributed to training of drill crews in HPHT procedures and practices. Within this period also exposed to subsea workover programmes and drilling development production wells.

Previous Position (Mar 2004 – Dec 2005)
Design engineer – Shell EPE
Responsible for the planning and design of new wells, also intervention in existing wells and final abandonment. This work includes integrated concept selection with Reservoir Engineers Development Group, in addition to Probabilistic well costing, Risk identification, Concept screening and Feasibility studies.
6 months of this time was spent working on Southern North Sea abandonment campaign 5 platforms, 26 wells) design in Assen, Holland. These were the first platforms Shell had planned to abandon completely, and with the globalisation of the company the project was among the first to be designed in a country other than the assets' location. The solutions found to the obvious legislative disconnect have become the foundations of new Shell Technical Standard in Abandonment. Other projects of note are, regaining vertical access with use of Gate Valve Drilling, in order to re-establish integrity of 5 wells with failed suspensions.
Within this period designed a new Subsea development well in the Central North Sea. Also produced operational workover programmes, coordinated service companies and managed day-to-day operational issues. Additionally have acted as Senior Well Engineer for operations during leave periods, and carried out on call duty Well Engineer duties.
Previous Position (Nov 2000 – Mar 2004)
Well Engineer Offshore – Shell UK E & P
Over 3 years offshore in Well Engineering Team. Full offshore development, starting with brief intensive spell as Assistant Offshore Well Engineer. On graduation to Wellsite Drilling Engineer, responsible for execution of Drilling Programme by means of developing Daily Work Instructions and holding Pre-phase meetings. Carried out all Rigsite Engineering calculations and engineering analysis (tallies, torque drag/hydraulics/cement). Co-ordinated logistics of both personnel and equipment, and managed interfaces with other Platform departments. Held wash up meetings to capture learnings following each phase, and produced End Of Well Reports. As NDSV developed skills in safety supervision/leadership and offshore planning. During this period worked continuously in the Northern North Sea on various installations including Brents, Cormorant and Dunlin. Have experience in sidetracks, running variety of casings, liners and completions. Cementation of abandonment/suspension plugs, casings/liners and cemented completion. During this time I was exposed to many of the latest drilling technology necessary to drill depleted and virgin pressure reservoirs.

10 years in offshore in Production Department following Shell Technician Training Scheme. Accountable for all areas of process and carried out routine and first line maintenance. Full range of training courses in production / safety including Command and Control of Emergency (Deputy OIM) and Fire Team Leader.
