Plant Engineer Supervisor Provided organization, planning, direction and control of maintenance, technical changes/ improvements and technical documentation for a production plant. Provide technical expertise to maintain and continuously improve chemical production of a plant in order to minimize cost, insure the technical means for a safe operation and high product quality at guaranteed desired plant availability. Reduced maintenance budget through the implementation of a Reliability Centered Maintenance program through evaluation of top 10 cost drivers, Pareto analysis of cost of repairs, examination of failure modes based symptoms leading to failure. Establish a suitable preventive and predictive maintenance programs using technology to monitor the development of failure mode symptoms. Reduction of maintenance man-hours from 26,000/ year to 21,000 for the same period. - Reduced maintenance cost to plant asset replacement (KI) value from 3.20% in1999 to 2.58% in 2002. -Replaced a glass lined column and re-boiler in a corrosive service to Hastelloy C2000 alloy this was a success that translated to 80 $T annual savings. Reduced maintenance cost of a Thermal oxidizer that was constructed in 2001 this T.O. had a numerous problems with 60% on line factor. improvements made by establishing a preventive and predictive maintenance programs on equipment and instrumentation including modifications to pilot gas system, improve reliability of flame scanners, circulation pumps and the blowers variable speed drive annual cost savings 125T$ - Established Mechanical integrity program for PSM covered equipments including piping, 5,600 instruments including interlocks and 2000 stationary and rotating equipments. Replaced a two stage rotary vane vacuum pump with single stage Busch Cobra dry running pump. This eliminated interstage condensation and solid formation which caused the frequent failures and extensive down time annual savings 90T$. -Worked with a team to reduce capital employed including fixed assets, spare parts and inventory from 6.5$MM to 2.5$MM. Reduced the maintenance repair cost of a Western States centrifuge through technical changes, feed speed, vibration and gyration switches, increase micron size of cloth to enable the mother liquor to de-water faster and form a uniform cake, improve the upper bearing support design and lubrication.
