Responsibilities: Corrosion Protection, Materials Selection, Failure Analysis, Welding & fabrication, and inspection,
 Recommended, contracted, designed, installed, commissioned and monitored CP for pipelines, storage tanks, concrete and steel structures for ethylene, ethylene glycol, polyethylene, utilities and offsite units. Soil resistivities based design calculations made. Supervised CP installation, commissioning for plant-wide concrete foundations and on deck of chemical berth and pilings. Sea water intake pipe by Lida anodes

 Materials selection: solved complex problems involving materials and corrosion. Recommended and implemented changes of material for fired heater tubes, MEG column reboiler, blow down exchanger, quench water coolers, gas cycle piping for oxidation reactors, Glycol evaporation system, etc. Extensive use of ASME, ANSI, ASTM, NACE and API codes. Projects like Geonics surveys for CP (Mobil Ghani Field); Stress corrosion cracking failures leading to explosion and fire (Brega Petrochemical Complex), Offshore Pitting of 304 stainless steel piping and selection of materials (Agip Oil Co.), H2S cracking failure and fire (Oxy Gas Plant), casing failures (Sirte Oil Co.) and corrosion inhibitors for oil industry were completed. Oil industry problems during drilling, production and maintenance were evaluated. Set up metallurgical and corrosion engineering laboratories for product testing.
