APPENDICES

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
Field Development Background

* Xijiang 24-3/24-1 and 30-2 Fields – The typical multi-Zone offshore oil fields. And these fields are typical sandstone brachyanticlines and accumulations of oil trapped in unconsolidated upper Tertiary sandstone. Regional faults and the inter-bedding nature of these sandstone strata with the surrounding clay formations allowed the oil to migrate through a long distance of the upper Tertiary Formation. This made these three fields form the greatest number of reservoirs and the thickest oil column in the east portion of the Pearl River Mouth Basin (PRMB). ConocoPhillips is the operator for development of Xijiang 24-3/24-1 and 30-2 Fields. In order to effectively develop XJ24-1 field that is a marginal small oil field, the long distance extended reach drilling technology is used for this field relying on the Xijiang 24-3 Platform. Xijiang 24-3-A14 well is the first world record ERD (Extended Reach Drilling) deviation well (the longest horizontal displacement: 8,063 m).
* Liuhua 11-1 Field – The largest offshore oil field in the South China Sea and located in contract block 29/04 at the central part of Dongsha Massif of the Pear River Mouth Basin in the South China Sea, consists of diagenetically altered Miocene limestone comprising a shallow-water carbonate bank. This bank forms the topmost and youngest interval of a larger, extensively karsted buried carbonate platform. BP-Amoco is the operator for development of Liuhua 11-1 Field. After preliminary exploration studies, Liuhua 11-1A was drilled. It tested at rates of 2,240bbl of heavy crude per day. Confirmation drilling of two additional wells, the Liuhua 11-1-3 and the Liuhua 11-1-4, showed a significant reservoir accumulation of more than a billion barrels of oil-in-place. Reservoir study on Liuhua 11-1 oil reservoir was done mainly based on the 3D seismic data, vertical and horizontal well data, and field production performance. The study was divided into four phases as interpretation of 3D seismic data, integration, flow simulation model, and sidetrack opportunities. The objectives of reservoir study were to have a detailed reservoir description associated the field production performance and a flow simulation model working as an effective tool for future sidetrack opportunities. And horizontal well technology was used to develop this field entirely. So far all of producers in the field are horizontal wells.
* Lufeng 13-1 Field – The field is a sandstone anticline, which lies in a Contract Area 16/06 at the eastern part of Pearl River Mouth Basin, the South China Sea. And it locates about 250 kilometers southeast of Hongkong. Water depth of the field is about 145 meters. Lufeng 13-1 oil field situates in the southwest of Lufeng depression. It features a dome structure. The field consists of two major bottom-water reservoirs, namely Zone 2370 and Zone 2500, in the Zhuhai Formation. These two reservoirs deposit in different geological environment. With the efforts of three horizontal wells drilled at the west of the field, two in Zone 2500 and one in zone 2370, the sweep efficiency of the whole field has been greatly improved. Also untapped reserve inside of the main producing area has been better drained through sidetracking two existing high water-cut wells.

FIELD EXPLOITATION ACHIEVEMENT
2004 - Proposed total 5 effective sidetrack prospects (A11ST1, A7ST1, A13ST3, A14ST1 and A20ST1) of which two wells A14ST1 and A20ST1 are ERD (Extended Reach Drilling) well sidetracks in the past 8 months of Year 2004.
2003 - Proposed total 4 effective drilling opportunities (A12ST1, A3ST2_ML, A5ST2, A19ST1), of which A3ST2_ML is the first multilateral well in China completed by Hook Hanger System, and participated in designing one ERD well A24 (over 8 km distance) on the XJ24-3 Field in Year 2003.
- Prioritized and recommended 5 more sidetracks in XJ24-3 field for year 2003, and prepared the AFEs and composite AFEs which will help to fulfill the 2003 production target.
2002 - Proposed total 6 effective drilling opportunities (A13ST2, A19ST1, A4ST3, A6ST1, A21ST1, A2ST1) in Year 2002, which were directly led to the Xijiang great achievement of 30.55 MMSTBO produced and almost 20 MMBO reserves incremental that both were over the budget and the Xijiang stretch target. These successful sidetracks completely changed the picture of XJ24-3 in people's mind.
2001 - Fulfilled on-site supervision of PLT jobs of four wells (B14, B12ST1, B19 and B23) in XJ30-2 platform in November 2001.

RESERVOIR STUDY ACHIEVEMENT
2003-2004 - Actively participated in a high quality long term depletion plan that was generated on a basis of an integrated reservoir engineering study and the plan exhibited a clear future of Xijiang field to the top management and have got good comments.
2000 - Successfully completed the work order about Xijiang 30-2 Field Continuous Reservoir Simulation Study for the Xijiang Operations, Phillips China Inc.
1997-1999 - Accomplished following three work orders in the CNOOC Research Center for three international oil companies (BP-Amoco, Phillips China Inc., JHN):
(1) Liuhua 11-1 Oil Field 3D Geo-modelling and Reservoir Simulation Study
(2) Xijiang 30-2 Oil Field Reservoir Simulation Study
(3) Lufeng 13-1 Oil Field Reservoir Engineering Study

WELL TEST ANALYSIS ACHIEVEMENT
1997 - Fulfilled the project of Liuhua 11-1 Oil Field Horizontal Well Test Analysis for the Amoco Orient Petroleum Company.
1995-1996 - Finished the assignments of the Vertical Well Test Analysis on the Xijiang 30-2 and Xijiang 24-1 Oil Field.
