Proposal making
- Preparation of cost estimates based on budgetary offers obtained from instrument vendors according to the specifications prepared for the project and forwarding to estimating section for cost build-up.
- Preparation of technical write-up, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (PID) etc. and forwarding to technological / co-ordinating section for compilation of offer.
- Providing technical clarifications on offers, participation in technical discussions with client / his consultant/ collaborator.
- Revision and modification of offers based on discussions with client / his consultant and follow-up with client through technical discussions till placement of order.

Basic Engineering
- Preparation of PI Diagram.
- Preparation of system configuration diagram.
- Preparation of specification of instrumentation equipment and DCS.
- Preparation of power supply and air supply diagram.

Procurement Activities
- Division of work into packages and identification of suppliers for each package.
- Finalising list of approved manufacturers/suppliers in consultation with client.
- Preparation and issue of Tender Specification.
- Receipt of offers from suppliers, technical evaluation, recommendation and negotiation.
- Finalisation of order with successful supplier.

Detailed Engineering
- Preparation of detailed PI diagram indicating tag numbers of each instrumentation equipment, DCS tags, alarm tags, various interlocks etc.
- Preparation of control room layout drawing showing locations of panels/ DCS consoles/UPS, ventilation grills, illumination fittings etc., obtaining approval from client and forwarding the approved drawing to the contractor for execution.
- Issue of civil, electrical, energy and ventilation assignments to concerned sections.
- Internal concurrence of civil, electrical and ventilation drawings.
- Preparation of detailed power supply and air supply diagram.
- Preparation of specification, data sheets and bill of material for all instrumentation equipment and accessories.
- Preparation of cable schedule.
- Preparation of installation drawings for all field mounted instruments.
- Preparation of hook-up drawings, loop schematic and logic diagrams.
- F & G layout drawings, fusible plug layout drawings
- Calculating orifice and control valve sizes based on flow data received from technological section/client and forwarding the finalised sizes to the respective suppliers for fabrication/manufacture.
- Preparation of layout drawing showing location of all field instruments, junction boxes, cable/pipe routes from instruments to control room etc.
- Preparation of I/O list, I/O mapping, dynamic graphics, annunciation and interlock scheme etc. and forwarding the same to the DCS supplier to enable them to develop relevant software and prepare detailed drawings.
- Approval of suppliers' drawings.
- Issue of manufacturing clearance based on approved drawings.
- Inspection and issue of despatch clearance.
- Follow-up for actual despatch and receipt of consignment at site.

Field Services
- Supervision of erection, testing, calibration and loop checking.
- Conducting Preliminary Acceptance Test (PAT).
- Post commissioning services including routine maintenance of instruments, repair of faults etc.
- Participation in overall Performance Guarantee Test (PGT).
- Preparation of "As-built" drawings (incorporation of various changes/ modifications in wiring and configuration of the measurement and control system done at site to suit process requirement).
