MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
- Identification of causes of hydrocarbon liquid carryover / foaming in sweetening columns as part of the ADGAS LNG HP feed gas conditioning study. Proposed solution is under implementation by the client (which potentially can save significant revenue by achieving higher LNG thruput).
- Design review of ADCO's BuHasa Facilities Upgrade Project during the EPC tendering phase led to recognition of design deficiencies - subsequently re-engineered by the client.
- All the projects handled in Technip have been completed within the allocated budget and time frame.
- Successful implementation of EPC - Champion Oil & Gas De-bottlenecking project for Brunei Shell – executed together with Brown and Root, Singapore. Involved right from basic engineering to start-up.

Position Lead / Senior Process Engineer
PMC for EPC of Mellitah plant, Western Libya Gas Project of AGIP, Italy - The project includes a new gas processing complex comprising Slug Catcher, Gas Sweetening, Gas Dehydration, Gas Dew Point Control, Condensate Stabilisation & NGL Fractionation, and utility systems. Involved as part of the PMC team based in Milan, Italy in the review / approval of contractor (Snamprogetti) design / documents such as PFDs, P&IDs, Heat & Material Balance, Equipment specifications, instrument data sheets.
Basic Engineering for new refrigerated LPG / Propane Tanks for QP. Project involved new propane storage tanks, conversion of existing propane tanks into butane storage tanks, new Boil-off Compressor, and associated works. Performed simulations for estimation of boil-off loads and for refrigeration system, worked out boil-off gas compressor configuration, involved in preparation of PFDs and P&IDs.
Basic Engineering for Bu Hasa 'G' & 'F+D' Development Project of ADCO. Project involved new gas and water injection facilities. Included new high pressure gas compression system (about 400 bar), associated utility systems, flare system, new water injection clusters, gas and water injection pipeline networks and gas, water and WAG (water-alternating gas) injection wellheads. Also involved in value engineering, reliability/availability study. Responsibility - Lead Process Engineer.
Basic Engineering for Filtration Upgrade of LNG trains of ADGAS – Included providing new filtration systems for carbonate and DEA solvents in LNG sweetening trains as means of reducing foaming problems in absorber columns. Responsibility - Lead Process Engineer
Techno-Economic Feasibility study followed by Basic Engineering for LNG plant HP feed gas conditioning – ADGAS - Included troubleshooting of existing sweetening trains – identification of causes of foaming, developing various options aimed at eliminating foaming problems, and techno-economic analysis of the options. Prepared techno-economic feasibility report. Made several presentations to high-level management on the findings / solutions proposed. Responsibility - Lead Process Engineer
EPC for Asab Facilities Upgrade Project for ADCO - Included new 30" multi-phase pipeline and effluent water disposal facility upgrade. Performed dynamic simulation of the pipeline for slug analysis using dynamic simulator OLGA. Prepared Commissioning / Operating Manuals, Pipeline de-watering procedure, pipeline de-oiling procedure. Responsibility – Lead Process Engineer
Proposal for Bu Hasa Facilities Upgrade EPC Project of ADCO. The project involves new centralised crude stabilisation facilities at Bu Hasa CDS. Included new 4-stage crude stabilisation facility, crude desalting, low pressure-gas recovery and various new utility systems and flare systems. Involved in FEED verification / endorsement, preliminary process calculations, interaction with desalter vendors, etc. Of particular interest was multi-phase distribution concept proposed in the FEED and the tight water-in oil spec desired by the client. Position Lead / Senior Process Engineer
Basic and Detailed Engineering (as part of EPIC project executed by Brown & Root Singapore) of the Champion Oil & Gas Debottlenecking Project which included new Gas Dehydration Unit for Champion 7 complex and new centralized liquid stabilization facilities for Champion field. Involved in simulation of the process flow scheme, preparation of the technical specs for the Glycol Contactor and the Glycol Regeneration skid, Liquid Export Pumps, Flash Gas Compressor (Liquid ring / Screw type), Instrument Air System, HAZOP study, developing of the PFS, P&ID'S, PSFS, Safeguarding Memorandum and the HAC drawings, updating the Shutdown Cause & Effect Matrix, developing Operations and Commissioning Philosophy for the entire Champion field, technical evaluation of various pump & compressor bids. Responsible for preparing the Commissioning, Startup & Operating Manuals. Worked as Lead Process and also as Project Engineer.
Basic and Detailed Engineering of the Gas Dehydration Unit for Champion 3 Intermediate / Deep Gas Dev. Project. Involved in HAZOP, bid evaluation of the Glycol Unit, developing PFS, P&ID'S and PSFS. Responsible in preparing the Operating & Commissioning Manuals, and also commissioning support to Shell.

Position Senior Process Engineer
Basic Engineering of Gas Wellhead Platform, BE, of the South Bassein field in Bombay Offshore. The field is the only major gas-producing field in India. The work included design of topside facilities for sour gas handling and in-field gas well fluid network.
Basic / Detailed Engineering for LPG Recovery Unit, Lakwa. It involved LPG extraction from C3-C4 rich gas through the expander-compressor route. As a Lead Process Engineer, responsible for flowsheet simulation and optimization and process design.
Study Report for revamp of Gas Sweetening and Dehydration units, Hazira. The complex has 4 trains of MDEA (SNEA license) based sweetening units and TEG based dehydration units. The job involved review of equipment, instruments and hydraulics for higher capacity. The findings were later confirmed by a test run.
Study Report for Additional LPG Recovery Facilities, Vijaipur, GAIL. This involved revamp of existing LPG / Propane Recovery Units. The process used is a combination of expander - compressor and external refrigeration processes. The work involved flowsheet simulations for various revamp schemes and adequacy check of equipment. The external refrigeration and the hot water systems (comprising waste heat recovery associated with gas turbines of lean gas compressors) were reviewed for spare capacity and propane recovery maximized.
Basic Engineering of Oil Wellhead Platforms, NLM-5/6/8/9/10/11, in the Neelam Field of Bombay Offshore. Subsequently involved in review and approval of detail design documents.
Basic / Detailed Engineering for Crude Stabilization Unit, Ravva Phase-1. The job involved flowsheet simulation and optimization for oil stabilization, generating process specs for 3-phase separators, oil storage, chemical injection system, flare system and hot oil system.
Deputed to KTI BV from May 1995 to October 1995 for review of the Basic Engineering package of 'C4 Hydrogenation Unit' by IFP and the 'Spent Caustic Oxidation Unit' by ABB Lummus for the NOCIL Modernization Project. The C4 Hydrogenation Unit comprises two-stage catalytic hydrogenation of olefins obtained from the Naphtha Cracker. The Spent Caustic Oxidation Unit comprises oxidation and neutralization of the spent caustic obtained from the Caustic Wash Unit.
Deputed to MMC Oil & Gas Engineering, Malaysia, from August 1992 – October 1992, for detailed engineering of a Water Injection platform for Petronas Carigali. The work included preparation of package unit specs (for Sea Water Lift pumps, Coarse and Fine Filters, Deaeration Tower, Chlorinator, etc.), developing P&IDs, safety logic and preparation of the process package.
