ISO 9002 certified) of BHARAT PETROLEUM CORPORATION LIMITED (erstwhile Burma Shell Refineries Limited), at Bombay (MUMBAI). The Corporation, engaged in the refining/marketing of petroleum products, has a refining capacity and a sales turnover exceeding 9.0 MMTPA and IRS 450 billion respectively. Experience Description:

Over Eight years of Refining Division experience in Plant and Equipment (Rotary and Static) Maintenance, with specialization in the field of rotating equipment overhaul, condition monitoring and trouble shooting. Experience also includes Executing Extensive Turn-Around maintenance on Static equipment of various processing units viz. Heaters, Columns, Reactors/Regenerators, Pressure Vessels and Heat Exchangers. This experience includes Overhaul, Construction, Erection and Commissioning of plants and equipment.

Description of Duties :

CATALYTIC CRACKING UNIT (July 96 onwards) :
The unit has a cracker of processing capacity 3800 T/Day of reduced crude oil, a gas plant, a C3/C4 separation facility and LPG/ Gasoline Merox sections.
UTILITIES (Jan. `94 to June 96) :
This complex comprises Power, Steam, DM Water production and distribution systems, Re-Circulation cooling water systems, Jetty Pump house etc. Also Effluent Water Treatment plant and Crude Storage tanks and attached pump houses are part of the Utilities Complex.

Human resource management.
Coordinates with various other departments viz. Operations, Technology, Inspection on regular basis for systems development / cost reduction / equipment reliability improvement.
Adherence to Quality control plan and continuous improvement.
Maintenance budgeting and cost monitoring/controlling.
Workforce training and upgrading their skills.
Maintenance of all lifting tools & tackles including overhead Hand and Electrical operated trolley cranes.
Planning and executing maintenance programs to meet process requirements.
Devising safe working practices and training.
Leading a crew of skilled/trained personnel for the maintenance of rotary/static equipment in the unit to attain maximum on-stream factor.
Co-ordination of TPM activities in pilot projects.

Skills:

Self starter and Team builder.
Conversant with computer software packages MS Office, WINDOWS, JAVA, MS-SQL and presently learning E-com @ NIIT, Bombay.
Conversant with Computer Maintenance Package, Plant Maintenance Module of SAP.
Adapt to any circumstances and turn events to common objective.
Good communication skills.
Expert in Rotary Equipment overhaul/monitoring/trouble shoot.
Immense physical and mental strength:
1. Worked extensively during turn-around maintenance of processing units in heaters, columns, reactors/regenerators, pressure vessels and heat exchangers.
2. Trekked up to Mount. Everest BC, Nepal without any sign of exhaustion and illness.
Timely response to normal and emergency situations:
Maintained high level of plant availability by tackling emergencies in time and preventing shutdowns. Gathered experiences in the form of a book titled “Handling Emergencies” for local circulation.
