CONOCO-PHILIPS PETROLEUM (Belanak FPSO Project, Dalian, China)
Lead Marine Systems Engineer – March 2003 to October 2003)
The Project involved the new construction of a 140,000dwt FPSO to be sited in the Belanak Field Development area. Prime duties were -
* Supervision of Marine Systems mechanical completion
* Appraisal and redesign of marine systems piping and engineering
* Preservation of ship equipment and systems
* As-built documentation review

VANGUARD FLOATING PRODUCTIONS (AUSTRALIA) (Woollybutt FPSO Project)
Project Engineer – Marine Systems Design (February 2002 to March 2003)
The Woollybutt Project involved the conversion of an 86000dwt trading tanker into an FPSO sited off the NW shelf of Australia towards the end of April 2003. The project was fast track with the Marine Systems design being completed in under 4 months. The whole conversion took 11 months from entering the shipyard to first oil. Prime duties were
* Sole responsibility for Marine Systems design and submittal to Classification Society (steam, condensate, feed, firewater, seawater cooling, crude/diesel fuel systems etc.). Equipment specification and appraisal.
* Boiler package Lead Engineer. The project involved the addition of two deck boilers running on gas/crude dual fuel, providing the process electrical load via a 4.5MW steam turbine.
* Project Marine Engineer at conversion shipyard (Keppel Benoi, Singapore) supervising Mechanical Completion and Commissioning of boiler/turbine packages, piping and other marine systems including interfaces with topsides process. Production of Commissioning and Operating procedures for marine systems.
* Tender technical specifications and estimating.
Other activities:
Attendance at HAZOP meetings. Witness Factory Acceptance Tests for marine systems.
Liaison with boiler, combustion engineering, pump and turbine manufacturers.
