RESPONSIBILITES
- Responsible on all scale for machinery packages.
- Assigned as a lead machinery engineer for all scale projects, assuming responsibilities of checking and reviewing other machinery engineers work.
- Generation of contract specifications and requisitions.
- Fill in major machinery data sheets, e.g. gas turbine or centrifugal compressor.
- Prepare/Check motor load listing.
- Review PFD's, P& ID's, pump head sheets and process data sheet received from chemical prior to preparing relevant machinery data sheets.
- Attends interdisciplinary meeting to discuss technical items for a project progress or clarification meetings with client.
- Issues inter-office memos related to technical details/decisions in the project.
- Review and approval of lateral and torsional critical speed analyses for centrifugal and reciprocating machinery trains and mechanical studies for compressors packages.
- Review and approval of logic diagrams of centrifugal and reciprocating machinery trains and packages.
- Inspection & testing of purchased equipment and machinery packages at supplier's shops. This includes attending hydro-tests, mechanical run tests, string tests, and performance testing.
- Participate in or conducts quality assurance activity related to site activities.
- Participation in the preparation of proposals for new projects, including budget pricing for main equipment and preparation of man-hours estimate for mechanical engineering department scope of work.
- Conducting studies of revamping and upgrading of existing machinery through evaluating centrifugal compressors and gas turbines performance to examine suitability of operation under new operating conditions different from initial design conditions.
- Insure environmental regulations and governmental laws are abided with during the execution of the project covering all aspects but not limited to noise, vibration, and emissions to land or atmosphere.
- HVAC system design which includes (system selection, cooling/heating load calculation, determination of supply air quantities, design supply and return air ducting/piping system, equipment selection and layout, design control system and preparing system specification).
- Training and lecturing for design and engineering of Rotating Equipment /HVAC systems and equipment for Engineers and Technicians
- Basic engineering including the following:
* Preliminary selection of type and model of machinery equipment for a specific service.
* Preparation of engineering specifications, data sheets and application sheets for machinery equipment.
* Review material requisition for inquiry including all forms (inspection form, supplier drawing and data requirements form etc.)
- Bid evaluation including the following:
* Technical offers bid evaluation for machinery equipment/packages and HVAC system. Preparing technical evaluation reports.
* Attending and directing pre-award meetings, clarification meetings and kick-off meetings with bidders, suppliers and customers.
- Detailed engineering including the following:
* Preparing material requisition for purchasing.
* Vendor prints review.
* Witness testing of machinery and HVAC equipment.
- Construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start up supervision.
