Skanska Cementation India Ltd, an ISO 9002 Company is a subsidiary of SKANSKA Construction Group UK, an international diversified construction business Group that is a part of SKANSKA AB.

Project: Widening to 4/6 lanes and upgrading of the existing 2 lane road including Minor Bridges
(Up to 30m), service roads and auxiliary work in the state of Andhra Pradesh, under the
Indian Minister's Golden Quadrilateral Scheme to construct 6500kms of Express Highway in India.

Client: NATIONAL HIGHWAY AUTHORITY OF INDIA
Consultant: Beca Intl Consultants Ltd, New Zealand & Consulting Engineers Services (I) Ltd.

Role: Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical), QSS (Mechanical)

May 2002 to Till Date
Location: Sompeta, Andhra Pradesh.
Report to: M r. I.V. Joseph, Project Director.

Job Responsibility: The scope of the project is construction of 64.0 Km of National High way, Service Roads and Auxiliary works in the state of Andhra Pradesh. As Engineer in-charge (mechanical QSS) main responsibilities are:-
1. Certification of Monthly Running bill for different heavy machineries like Excavators, Graders, Wheel loaders, Vibratory soil compactors etc, based on the daily log sheets submitted, External Plant hire bills and agency wise reconciliation of consumable materials.
2. To prepare cost Management statements and reports which consists of Accrual Provision for Hired plants
3. Planning and deployment of Machineries.
4. Preparing utilization reports of plants and reporting the same to the Management for making future decisions.
5. To manage a team of 4 members in certifying the monthly RA bills of different machinery suppliers based on daily log sheets.
6. Monitoring and follow up of contract.

Results:
A comprehensive billing system for about 62 hired Heavy machinery's was successfully implemented.
Work specific formats for Daily log sheets were made and implemented.
Plans for continuous improvement were carried out upon suggestions from site engineers regarding the performance of machinery¡¦s.

Successful in implementing a disciplined control over all plants, improving their percentage utilization and reducing the nonproductive hours, fuel, thus reducing wastage.
Worked in close coordination with the planning & commercial department for fixing the requirement of Machinery¡¦s.
