Summery of the main Responsibilities for the above Positions:
As all the above companies are steel manufacturer and the type of projects were the same; the main responsibilities for the above six positions in Project and Construction Management were mostly the same with slight differences depending on the procedures, policy and the organization's structure in each company.
The basic function for the Projects Supervisor, Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager and the Dept. Manager was to organize and coordinate between all departments and the customers/site for all matters related to the smooth execution of the project/projects as per agreed contractual schedule and other contractual obligations. The main responsibilities were to:
* Control and monitor the schedule for fabrication, delivery and erection.
* Monitor quality to ensure customer satisfaction and
* Control and monitor the cost to ensure overall profitability.
7. Project Structural Engineer Jeddah National Steel Co., S.A 1991/1995
The basic functions for the Project Structural Engineer was to Prepare, interpret and use civil / engineering plans, drawings, specifications and technical reports, prepare and control the Structural Engineering/Design works and to coordinate Manufacturing works, Delivery and Erection works for the project with the project Manager, customer and all Departments regarding all matters related to the project under construction such as:
* Review the Contract Specification, drawings and scope of works.
* Prepare Project Technical Report for running projects and for tendering.
* Preparing/reviewing the Design of Structures using STAAD III Program Ver. 20.2.
* Preparing design of connections using AISC-ASD code.
* Reviewing and resolving RFI's internally and with the customer.
* Reviewing engineering drawing (i.e. General layouts, Typical Connection Detail & Erection drawings).
* Reviewing and reporting the design revisions and its impact on schedule and cost.
* Following the approval from the consultant for material, structural and connection design and shop drawings.
8. Site Structural Engineer Rio Trading and Contracting, S.A 1989/1991
The basic functions was to supervise the execution of the civil works at site as per the drawings, project specification and schedule and to coordinate with the Construction Manager, Engineering Department at site and the Consultant on all technical matters relating to the structure under construction.
