Engineering of Water Tube Boilers –
For seven years I was looking after engineering of various types of water tube boilers, and was responsible for following activities.
1. Issue of long lead bill of materials for pressure parts. Boiler and pressure vessel design as per ASME,
IBR and BS codes. Stress and stability analysis and design of pressure parts, pressure vessels and boiler house structures. Piping engineering including design of Plant & Equipment Layout, Piping Layout,
Stress & Piping Flexibility Analysis etc. Preparation of specifications for bought out equipment like fans, feed water pumps etc.
Self is well conversant with international codes like ASME Sec.I,II,VIII, ASME B31.1 & 31.3,
BS1113, UBC, IBR, IS800 etc. used in Pressure Vessel and Design of Steel Structures.
2. Preparation of detailed equipment and pressure vessel drawings, P&IDs, Piping GA and Isometrics, preparation of engineering specifications and getting approval from third parties and statutory bodies.
3. Control of Project schedules and cost, co-ordination between different functions likes Projects, Materials,
Manufacturing and Engineering.
4. Standardization and parameterization of design, drawings and product components, standardization of procedures and practices, Auditing of internal business processes and functions as per requirement of ISO9000-2000.
