* B.Tech. (Chemical Engineering) from the University of Madras in 1976.
* M.Tech. (Chemical Plant Design) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 1978.
EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS
- About 25 years of Process Engineering experience including fifteen years with EPC companies in the Arabian Gulf states in the Oil & Gas industry.
* Fifteen years experience in design and engineering of oil & gas gathering stations, gas sweetening, dehydration units; Water treatment and injection systems; Refinery units including condensate topping units and various proprietary processes for desulphurisation.
* Fifteen years experience in the simulation of Oil & Gas and Refinery processes with Pro-II, Hysys and Hysim process packages (1990 onwards).
* Vast experience in all aspects of process engineering including: Conceptual design, Review and preparation of FEED, Preparation of PFD and P&ID, Process specification of equipment, hydraulics design and preparation of operating manuals.
* Specialized in HAZOP study procedures; Hazop leader for major company projects.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
I. PRESENT EMPLOYMENT:
Working with Petrofac International Company, Sharjah, a major EPC Contracting company in the U.A.E. since 1993.
During 1993-98, worked as Process Group Leader in the Sharjah offices, heading a group of eight process engineers.
Since 1998, working as a Consultant on 'assignment basis'. Has handled more than 30 assignments of 3-8 weeks duration in the Sharjah offices in the last seven years.
Responsibilities included the complete design and engineering of various process units including:
* Crude Gathering Station And Transport Pipelines
* Gas Dehydration Plants
* Gas Compression and Injection units
* Gas Sweetening Plants
* Fresh Water Treatment And Water Injection Projects
* Refinery units with ADU, VDU, Hydrotreating, Catalytic Cracking, Isomerization unit etc.
The clients for the above projects included:

* PDO, Oman
* Amoco, Sharjah
* SPC, Syria
* BGFCL, Bangladesh.

II. MAJOR ASSIGNMENTS RECENTLY HANDLED:
February 2005
Conceptual design, simulations and brief equipment specifications for a 40,000 BPD Early Production Facilities.
Client: Kuwait Oil Company (KOC)
December 2004 and Aug. 2005
Review of FEED package, simulation studiesfor a prestigious project valued at more than US Dollars 1 billion. Project consists of 3-stage let-down, crude stabilization, gas sweetening, dew-pointing, compression and injection.
Client: PDO, Oman
October – November 2004
Upgrade of Project FEED design to increase the crude processing capacity of an oil gathering train from 150,000 BPD to 165,000 BPD – simulations, PFD/P&ID revisions, equipment datasheet revisions.
Client: AGIP KCO – Khyrgoil Company
Aug.2003 – Feb. 2004 Preparation of the design documents for a mini-refinery with ADU, hydrotreating and cat reforming - simulations, PFD/P&ID revisions, equipment datasheet preparation.

III. PREVIOUS WORK HISTORY:
1992- 1993 Ewbank International Consultants, Doha, Qatar.Sr. Process Engineer.
Process responsibilities for the various ongoing projects of QGPC. Job involved working with Pro-II and Hysim process packages. Seconded to the offices of Petroleum Development Oman, Muscat for a period of four months to develop a process simulation package of a Crude Stabilization Plant.
1990-1992 Comprimo Engineering Consultants, Muscat, Sultanate Of Oman.Process Engineer.
Process and systems responsibilities for the various projects of Petroleum Development Oman. Job responsibilities included detailed engineering of crude transport pipeline design projects, Oil Gathering / production Stations, NGL plant upgrade etc.
1987-1990 International Development & Engg. Associates, Madras, India Principal Process Engineer.
Functioned as the Lead Process Engineer of a detailed engineering team for a 20,000 MTPA Maleic Anhydride plant. Job involved complete utilities system design of the plant. The basic engineering package was provided by Lummus Crest Inc., U.S.A.Functioned as the Lead Process Engineer in the detailed engineering of a 150,000 MTPA HDPE plant. The basic engineering package was provided by Du Pont, U.S.A
1986 - 1987 Toyo Engineering India Limited, Bombay, IndiaProcess Engineer.
Detailed engineering of 20,000 MTPA MEG plant based on Scientific Design Inc. Houston's technology. Responsibilities included steam system design and procurement engineering of critical equipment (boiler, fired heaters, and steam turbine generators) in addition to the routine process activities.
1978 - 1986 Projects & Development India Limited, Sindri, IndiaProcess Engineer.Handled the Design / Engineering of several large capacity Ammonia plants. Job responsibilities included computerized material and energy balances, steam balance, design of primary reformer flue gas waste heat recovery system, sizing of fired heaters, energy consumption calculations etc.Functioned as the group leader of a design group involved in the engineering and procurement of the Primary Reformer and Accessories of a 1350 TPD Ammonia Plant.
