Petroleum Reservoir Engineer

Worked closely with OXY Long Beach reservoir engineers and geologists to conduct detail pool review as a part of surveillance program for well workover and drilling opportunities; particularly in water flood injection, production and voidage balance calculations. Also review AFE projects for production & injection wells, new horizontal well drilling and re-drill etc. Coordinate & conduct black oil simulation studies for offshore lease properties. The following list illustrates a few completed tasks or team work participation:

* Participated as a member of Engineering Committee in OXY Long Beach, Inc (Wilmington Field) operation to review detail water-flooded reservoir & production operations. Also participated in technical teams, project teams and special assignment teams. Participated engineering and business plan look-back reviews, etc.
* Evaluated Vaqueros water-flood potential in Venoco's South Ellwood field.
* Conducted simulation model to evaluate the validity of the pressure fall-off test in South Ellwood field.
* Conducted Monte Carlo simulation to evaluate the recoverable reserve for Tranquillon Ridge Field.
* Conducted reservoir simulation studies for Huntington Beach Field, Upper Main Zone water-flooding project.
* Reviewed reservoir simulation study for Carpinteria Field, Offshore in California.
* Evaluated and permitted water-flooding project for Rincon Island Field, Offshore in California.
* Evaluated Tideland thermal project in Long Beach area.

BECHTEL PETROLEUM OPERATION INC., Tupman, CA 1991- 2/1998
Staff Reservoir Engineer 1997- 2/1998

Reservoir and production engineer in Shallow Oil Zone (SOZ) Asset Team. Managed about 200 wells in SOZ Fault Block 9, 10, and 11. Started on Eastern SOZ horizontal well simulation study.

* Coupled fluid flow network (PipePhase) simulation model and Goal Programming Optimization technique to study Elk Hills' proven 917 BCF gas management strategy which substantially increases revenue to $1.4 billion in gas sale.
* Conducted PipePhase simulation to design SOZ and 24Z gas compression and injection operation which can increase SOZ production at 1000 bbl/day.

Senior Reservoir Engineer 1991 – 1996

Reservoir engineer, 26R/NA Reservoirs and Reserves Evaluation & Strategy Asset Team. Conducted simulation studies with geostatistic application, horizontal well drilling program, pressure transient analysis, economic analysis, reserve and production forecasting.

* Implemented PipePhase simulation for Elk Hills' 14 pipeline & transmission models which cover 90% of Elk Hills oil & gas gathering systems.
* Doubled 26R horizontal well drillings based on 26R horizontal well segment simulation study with geostatistic application. The horizontal well production was 80% of 40,000 bbls/day.
* Recommended the partial pressure support and depletion strategies based on the fully compositional 26R model which planned for 15 years production strategy.
* Identified major communication problem the first time in the Steven Structure by using perfluorocarbon gaseous tracers. The project result shaped the reservoir management strategy in Elk Hills.
