SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:
I have over 21 years of experience in engineering and design (process systems design) of Oil and Gas installations and Pipelines.
I have been in employment with Engineers India Ltd (Process Design department) from 1984 till present, and my current job title is Manager (Process).
Some of the largest Oil and Gas production systems and pipelines in India have been done directly by me or under my full hands on supervision (complete process design responsibility from conception to completion of the project).
The world's longest LPG pipeline (Jamnagar-Loni, 1275 km) was process engineered by me in my capacity as Senior Engineer/Manager.
I have worked on 7-8 large production systems for ONGC, incuding 2-3 onshore platforms.
Since most of my jobs have been actually commissioned and in production for years, I can assert that I have very good practical design experience in the entire life-cycle of such projects.
I have been working in many kinds of teams and across several departments and many hierarchies in the organization.
On a self-assessment scale, I can execute any type of design project of this specialization, as well as manage, train and productively lead a team of 10-20 engineers to deliver large or small process engineering jobs. Till date, none of my projects have exceeded the allotted budget for process work.
I did my graduation in 1984 as a Chemical Engineer from IIT-Kharagpur, India, one of India's most well rated engineering colleges.
AREAS OF EXPERIENCE
* Process conceptualisation, simulation & optimisation and preparation of feasibility and detailed project reports.
* Carrying out simulation for process plants using simulation software packages like TG NET, TLNET, HYSYS etc.
* Process optimisation including mass and energy balance.
* Preparation of Process Flow Diagrams and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, vessels and equipment sizing, instrument specification and hydraulic calculation with final preparation of process package.
* Detail Engg. follow-up including review of equipment layout, material requisitions, isometrics and other process related engineering documents.
* Revamp jobs including adequacy checks for existing equipment, piping, instruments etc.
* Providing technical support to commissioning activities and performance of guarantee runs
* Use of simulation packages like TGNET,TLNET, CHEMSHARE, HYSYS, and inhouse software packages.
MAJOR JOBS UNDERTAKEN
(As a lead process engineer)
OIL & GAS PROCESSING JOBS:
Central Processing Facilities at Gandhar Phase-I and Phase-II
Preparation of Process design package for Oil & Gas handling system involving design of Group Gathering Station (Capacity 1.2 MMSCMD gas handling), Crude stabilisation unit, associated gas compression for central processing facilities Gandhar ONGC (capacity 1.4 MMTPA Crude oil processing, 1.5 MMSCMD gas compression & 109,000 TPA condensate fractionation unit).
The systems design included different stages of separation, internal heating and stabilisation of oil to meet RVP required for storage of oil in tanks. This also involved gas compression of released associated gas to the required pressure for further processing. The system design also involved associated utilities and off-sites facilities and technical bid evaluation.
Hazira Gas Processing Complex Phase-IIIA
Preparation of process design basic engg. Package for 51.5 Tons/hr condensate fractionation unit for Oil Natural Gas Commission, Hazira. The process package included simulation /optimisation material balance generation for recovery of LPG and natural gasoline from condensate. Units include inlet condensate receiving, heating, design of light end stripper column, LPG column and stripper off gas compression etc.
- Process design packages for integrated utilities/offsites for Condensate Fraction Unit, Gas Sweetening Unit, and Gas Dehydration Unit of Ph-III A Hazira Expansion.
- Review of the P&ID's at M/S HEC,Hyundai Engg Company's office at Seol, Korea. Plant successfully commissioned in 1997.
LPG Revamp Study/Basic Engg Package for Hazira Gas Processing Complex
Process design package preparation for the capacity expansion of the plant from existing 5.27 MMSCMD gas and 20 TPH condensate to 8.0 MMSCMD gas and 40 T/hr condensate. Job involved process scheme optimisation (turbo expander process), heat/cold balance generation, material balance generation for the entire process. Debottlenecking study for the existing plant equipment, adequacy check of dryers, cold box, turbo expanders etc., and vendor/ client interaction.
- Collection of existing plant data and establishing/ identifying plant equipment limitation
Detail Engineering Follow-up for Gas Sweetening (Cap. 5.64 MMSCMD using amine process)/ Gas Dehydration Unit (Cap 5.7 MMSCMD using Glycol Process)/ Condensate Fractionation Unit (2 trains of cap. 51.5 T/hr condensate each) / Dew Point Depression Unit (4 trains of capacity 5.7 MMSCMD using external refrigeration process) and Sulphur Recovery Unit (Capacity 7000 NM3/hr Acid gas) for Hazira Gas Processing Complex Phase III.
Job involved Process selection, process design review, consistency check of vendor/contractor P&IDs etc.
Process package for water injection facilities (Capacity 30,000 M3/day) at ONGC, Gandhar
Job involved preparation of process package including simulation, optimisation, detailed engineering follow-up and study for complex safety operation and commissioning assistance. Job involved design of high-pressure water injection booster/main pumps, deoxygenation system design and chemical dozing system.
Process Package for Gas Injection facilities (0.7 MMSCMD) at ONGC, Gandhar.
Process package preparation, simulation, optimization for gas compressors, P&IDs vendor drawing review, detail engineering follow-up and complex safety operation study.
Process Package for Gas Production facilities (Capacity 1.0 MMSCMD gas processing) at Dahej for Oil and Natural Gas Commission.
Conceptualisation of the process scheme, well fluid manifolding, process simulation, generation of material balance, PFD and P&ID preparation and total process design and associated Utilities and Offsites design.
Conceptual Study for Development of Oil Fields in Kazakhstan (for ONGC, Videsh) (Capacity 2.5 MMTPA crude oil processing)
Job involved study of different options for crude oil processing, pumping scheme optimisation and broad equipment specifications for different options, well fluid gathering and processing, process design of gas lift facilities and water injection facilities and associated all utilities and offsite facilities.
Process Package Preparation for Group Gathering Station, KALOL GGS, North Santhal, Gujarat for Oil & Natural Gas Commission (Capacity well fluid 1500 m3/day.)
Process design of oil and gas processing and despatch facitilies, well fluid receiving, manifolding, separation of gas, separation of water from wellfluid in heater treater and crude oil pumping for final despatch.
OFFSHORE JOBS
Detailed Engg of MNW Gas compression cum water injection process platform at BHN field of M/S ONGC.(Water injection capacity 2,50,000 BWPD and Gas Compression 1.9 MMSCMD)
As a lead process engineer, the job involved development of water injection P&ID 's, preparation/ checking/ approving of process data sheets as per the bid specification, generation of Instt data sheets, line lists, safe charts etc, detailed engg followup and providing all necessary inputs for engg and client interaction.
Detailed Engg of D1 WWIP ( D1 Well cum water injection platform 200 km offshore southwest of Mumbai), of M/S ONGC.(Water injection capacity 2640 M3/day and Modification at jack up platform Sagar Lakshmi. )
As a lead process engineer,the job involved development of water injection P&ID 's, preparation / checking/ approving of process data sheets as per the bid specification, generation of Instt data sheets, line lists, safe charts etc, detailed engg followup and providing all necessary inputs for engg and client interaction.
Presently the job is under execution.
Basic Engineering Package preparation for suitability of EPS Sagar Laxmi for processing B-173 A wellfluid (for M/s ONGC)
Job involved preparation of Process inputs for basic engineering package of Sagar Laxmi process platform, adequacy check of existing equipment and instrumentation for handling different crude, P&IDs, process data sheets for equipment and instruments and safe charts preparation for the process platform.
PIPELINE JOBS
Basic Engineering Package preparation for Oman India Gas Pipeline terminal facilities
(Oman Oil Company Ltd)
Process Package Preparation including development of P&IDs and Process data sheets for 28.3 MMSCMD dry gas transportation, pressure reduction station at Rapar Gadhwali and Custody transfer facility at Bharuch.
Process Package Preparation and detailed engineering follow up for Jamnagar-Loni LPG Pipeline job for transportation of LPG (Capacity 2.5 MMTPA ) through 1275 kilometres long pipeline for GAIL ( M/s Gas Authority of India Ltd.). The pipeline being the world's longest LPG pipeline and first of its kind in India implemented by M/S GAIL.
The job involved preparation of Process Package including conceptualisation, design basis preparation, optimisation study, preparation of detailed P&ID & datasheets for engineering, getting the process package vetted by back up consultant M/S Gulf Interstate,USA,Incorporation of the comments by the back up Consultant in the process package, involved in HAZOP study session with M/s ENTEC, preparation of Operation and Control philosophy, and all necessary detailed engineering activities. Also involved in giving process input for trouble shooting activities during/after commissioning.
Process package for Vizag-Secundrabad LPG Pipeline (Capacity 1.0 MMTPA) LPG transportation through 580 kilometres long pipeline (for M/s HPCL).
Job involved basic Process input generation including hydraulic calculation, pumping station optimisation, major equipment specifications, process flow diagrams, preparation of P&ID's and operation and control philosophy etc.Involved as a lead engineer for this project.
Process package preparation of crude oil unloading facilities through SBM, offshore/onshore pipelines for Eastern India Refinery at Paradeep(M/S IOCL).
The job involved process package preparation including checking / approving of design basis, hydraulic calculation,generation of P&ID's, equipment and instrument data sheets etc.
The job involved interaction with client for fixing design basis,incorporation of comments from client on the P&ID's, and preparation of addendum and technical queries.Involved as lead engineer for this job.
Process Package for Gas metering facilities at Trombay terminal, Bombay (Capacity 2.5 MMSCMD) for M/s GAIL
Job involved preparation of Process Package for custody transfer and metering facilities Trombay terminal, Bombay including generation of PFDs, P&IDs, equipment data sheets, instrumentation data sheets and all associated Process facilities.
Process Package Preparation for Derating, Capacity expansion and extension of Mumbai –Pune multiproduct pipeline.(Capacity expansion upto 4.295MMTPA) for M/S HPCL
The job involved process study for pipeline system optimisation, batch sizing, interface volume calculations and preparation of the design basis, generation of P&ID's, preparation of equipment list along with process specifications for instrumentation.
