Technical support, design and operation of offshore and subsea oilfield equipment. Projects supported include failure and contingency strategy of BP / BG Juno HIPPS and BP Bruce SSIV systems, BP Nam Con Som SCSSV failure and Perenco North Davy PWV failure.

SIT and offshore commissioning of the Alba XS2 4-well subsea development. Back-to-back support as client engineer to ensure manifold, trees and controls fully integrated and tested prior to mobilisation. Client engineer on board Alba North platform to oversee existing field shutdown, PCS and MCS software upgrades, and installation and commissioning of the new wells.

Front end engineering and concept development of new Forvie North field development, a 6-well extension to the NAB and Dunbar facilities within both the UK and Norwegian sectors. Specification of topside and subsea controls equipment and operating philosophy from client statement of requirements to the functional design specifications for controls, umbilicals and multi-phase flowmeters, including all tender and contract documentation.

Client rep. on the Husky White Rose 33-well FPSO development, looking after Cameron scope of controls equipment out of Houston. Review and approval of conceptual and detailed designs to ensure compliance with contract and fitness-for-purpose. Chair design and document reviews, progress meetings etc. & ensure quality of build, testing and integration - MCS, HPUs, SDUs etc.
Aker Kvaerner Oilfield Products, London, UK. (April 2000 to March 2003).
Concept, design and project management of £multi-million fast-track subsea controls projects. High integrity control modules, mounting bases, sensors, jumpers and distribution units. Detailed knowledge and design of all components, control of project technical resources and client interfaces to ensure all technical solutions meet project and contractual requirements. Projects included BG Flank, Mobil Lewis, Burullus Scarab Saffron and Enterprise Nelson.

Contract Project Engineer. Management, design and construction of high pressure pneumatic and hydraulic laboratory to test and develop full range of gas welding equipment. Equipment included extreme hazard oxygen pneumatic shock testing facility, designed and constructed in accordance with strict international standards and directives. Training of personnel in use of hazardous equipment and implementing operational guidelines under OHSE requirements. Active part of team developing the factory and engineering department into world class leader.

Contract Project Engineer. Management, design and construction of numerous mining projects including; Surface water pumping and disposal; Modifications to existing pipelines and pumping stations; Computer modelling of 6km service compressed air network to identify failures, allow refinement and execute 'what if?' scenarios; Installation of high volume secondary crusher feed screens; and Computer modelling of water-levels through remote data-acquisition and functional forecasting. Realised substantial improvements through application of 'grass roots' engineering.

Lead Subsea Controls Engineer. Design and management of electro-hydraulic subsea production systems for offshore oil and gas industry. Testing and fault diagnosis of new and existing equipment. Modifications to existing equipment to suit changing field conditions. Introduced many generic design, assembly and testing procedures to increase reliability and quality. Progressed to lead an eight-strong team of engineers and designers responsible for electro-hydraulic distribution and ROV interfaces product line for several £multi-million fast-track projects, including BP ETAP, Shell ETAP, Kingfisher and Pelican.
