From April 2005 – present Area Geophysicist with Arabian Geophysical and Surveying Company in Saudi Arabia, seconded to work at Saudi Aramco's Geophysical Data Processing Division (GDPD). Main duties include 3D PSTM (Kirchhoff)/PSDM (Tau and Wave-equation) and amplitude-preserved processing, implementation of quality assurance procedures to ensure the highest standard of data quality can be obtained (in terms of bandwidth and S/N ratio), participation in acquisition review team with interpreters and other seismic specialists to define optimal acquisition parameters. Involved in Aramco's Shaped-sweep technology presentation. Continues to be involved in developing the latest techniques for noise and multiple removal.

October 2004 – March 2005 Consulting Geophysicist with Saudi Aramco's GDPD, provided consultancy service in large volume 3D PSTM processing and 2D/3D OBC and TZ processing with Disco/Focus. August to September 2004 Consulting Geophysicist with Canadian International Technical Consultants in Calgary, Canada, responsible for testing and reviewing stand-alone seismic processing programs for noise attenuation as well as multiple subtraction of both land and marine seismic data. Provided technical support (data acquisition) and start-up preparation for a Canadian seismic contractor for upcoming field operations in Libya. Involved in tender document preparation with a Canadian seismic processing contractor for the 2D data reprocessing and the tape-transcription projects for Syrian Petroleum Co. Also involved in tender document preparation with a Canadian geoscience consultancy firm for seismic acquisition/field operation QC for Sasol in Mozambique. April to July 2004 Consulting QC Geophysicist with Geocon for Repsol-YPF in Libya, responsible for 2D/3D (both onshore and offshore) seismic data review, field parameter tests, and on-site/in-field QC. Involved in technical and data quality control. 2D/3D seismic processing (time and depth) QC and supervision including parameters testing and selection. Investigation of basic geophysical problems related to statics, signal enhancement, noise suppression and multiples elimination. Liaison with interpretation geoscientists and service providers to identify specific data issues and potential solutions. Assist in seismic inversion and multi-attribute analysis. Data processing review for a seismic contractor on several 2D lines in Libya - main emphasis includes (escarpment and sand dune) statics problem and solution. Reviewed and proposed Promax processing flows for on-board processing for a 3D seismic survey in the Caspian Sea area. Also reviewed and proposed in-field processing flows (Promax) for a wide-azimuth 3D project in China. Drafted and prepared the system configuration of a newly set-up processing center in Iran for Trafalgar and GRC. Carried out seismic data review for foreign operators for projects in Syria. Also provided technical support and tender preparation assistance for a Canadian seismic processing contractor for processing/reprocessing projects in India. Provided geophysical technical support in seismic data processing and acquisition (field operations) for a Canadian junior oil company in Yemen and another in Indonesia.

July 2001 to October 2003 - Consulting Geophysicist with Saudi Aramco's GDPD, provided consultancy service in large volume 3D processing and acquisition technical support. Main emphasis includes seismic data review, desert statics solution, near-surface velocity analysis, multiples elimination and signal enhancement. Performed analysis of seismic velocity, bandwidth and other basic data attributes to determine optimum processing sequences and parameters for better data imaging and inversion. Assisted also with training and mentoring Aramco's junior and new processing personnel. Involved in both testing and production PSTM on pc-cluster. April 1999 to June 2001- Staff Geophysicist (Seismic Operations) with Veba Oil Operations B. V. in Libya, supervised and coordinated 2D/3D seismic operations, including data acquisition and processing QC and supervision. 2D/3D seismic crew supervision and field operations QC. Monitored and reviewed daily and monthly equipment tests and in-field processing. Planned and executed field parameters test program and processing trials for quality assurance. Production processing (time and depth) QC at contractors' processing center. Also reviewed acquisition and processing parameters of past 2D and 3D surveys (both land and marine) to define optimal parameters for future surveys. Responsible for survey planning and design. Key member of the technical bid evaluation team. Involved also in uphole drilling and check-shot/VSP processing QC. Technical presentation to Company's senior management and representatives from the National Oil Company. Responsible also for technology transfer and training of Libyan geophysicists. Initiated and organized a large in-house data archiving and management project. Carried out seismic data inversion (fracture detection), AVO/AVA, reservoir characterization, geostatistics, multi-attribute analysis and DHI studies using state-of-the-art technologies. May 1998 to April 1999 - Senior Processing Supervisor with Arcis Processing in Calgary, Canada, head-hunted by Arcis to improve efficiency and productivity of data processing operation. Supervision and quality control of in-house 2D (both land and marine) and 3D (land) processing projects. Instigated new software package (SeisUp for interactive production processing and STRATUS for statics analysis and solutions) including parallel processing of both 2D and 3D production data with ITA software. Evaluated and implemented other software packages such as FOCUS and GeoDepth. Prepared 2D/3D data processing bid proposals.

January 1996 to May 1998 - Senior Processing Geophysicist with Kelman, responsible for both technical supervision and quality control of numerous successful 2D and 3D projects worldwide. Assisted in managing a production group of 5 processing staff. Executed test workflow – includes testing and parameters definition, building job set-up and master files creation. Merged vintage 3D datasets of different sources and parameters, including phase matching and re-migration. Involved heavily in analyzing and solving data problems. Debugged and tested most in-house proprietary software prior to releasing them to production for quality assurance. Involved also in 3D seismic planning and design for clients.

June 1994 to January 1996 - Special Projects Geophysicist with Kelman Technologies International in Calgary, Canada, initially participated in the set-up of a Technical Services Group (interactive workstation support and data archiving). Developed data archiving methodology and data management solution for major oil companies in Calgary. Later assigned to undertake special processing projects (AVO and Pre-stack time and depth migration) using Kelman's proprietary processing software package. Responsible for the processing of both new and vintage 2-D data, including production and trial works on data from many geographical areas. Assisted in the training of junior staff with modern processing techniques and applications.

September 1991 to June 1994 - Interpretative Workstation Coordinator with Geo-X Systems in Calgary, Canada, responsible for interpretative workstation support and project coordination. Provided high quality services to clients including data loading, assistance in 2D and 3D seismic interpretation and mapping (using IESX, SeisX and PICS), client liaison and tape transcription. Involved also in testing and streamlining new in-house processing software programs into routine production modules. Carried out programming (in FORTRAN) for data processing and other G&G applications. Assisted with the maintenance of computerized geophysical databases and provide support for other in-house users.

Wrote a paper on adaptive noise suppression technique, "Removal of high-energy monochromatic, narrow-band frequency noises from producing fields: a case history in the Sirt Basin of Libya". This paper was selected and invited for presentation at the 6th Annual EEGS-ES Meeting (Bochum, Germany) and the PETEX 2000 (London, U.K.) in September and November 2000 respectively, by both the technical committee of PETEX 2000 and Germany's DMT's GeoTec division. Also completed two other technical papers, "The use of psuedo upholes with model-based technique in solving severe static problems: A processing experience in the Jebel Zelten escarpment area, Libya" and "Improved fault imaging using pre-stack migration in the Tibisti area, Libya".

Co-presented an efficient way to perform pre-stack time migration on PC-clusters, "Swath by swath PSTM – an alternative method at Saudi Aramco", and other technical presentations with their Technology Transfer Group, "Residual Noise Attenuation: An Approach to Pre-stack Noise Suppression" and "Refraction Residual Static Corrections using Far Offset Data". Co-authored two technical papers, "A novel method to remove inter-bed multiples in the Harimaliyah area, Saudi Arabia" and "Application of far offset refraction statics in the presence of wadi in the Mazalij area, Saudi Arabia". Assisted in the preparation of "Refraction Residual Static Corrections using Far Offset Data" presentation for the GEO2004 in Bahrain and "Shaped Sweep Test Results in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia" for the I/O Middle East Technology Forum in Dubai in February 2005.
