Physically fit and mentally active person possessing considerable qualifications and experience gained with international companies on and offshore in industries such as, gas compression, power generation, open cast quarry, and large-scale construction. Also combined with service with the Territorial Army (Parachute Regiment). EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Sep 04-Present: Freelance Maintenance & Commissioning Engineer.
Working freelance in Indonesia for Universal Compression Inc (UCI) commissioning two 16V-AT27GL Waukesha engines driving 3 stage JGC-6 Ariel compressors each producing 25 MSCM. Also assisted UCI setting up a rental fleet of compressors and maintenance schedules.
I am now contracting to BJ as Maintenance Engineer in Azerbaijan on the commissioning of phase 1 & 2 of the BP AIOC Sangachal Terminal Expansion Program.
Sep 02- Sep 04: Maintenance Supervisor
Hands on roll for BJ Process and Pipeline Services based in Kazakhstan. My responsibilities include setting up and running a PM system, controlling the spare part within our Min-Max system, major rebuilds of several N2 pumps and winterization of all equipment. I also control all day-to-day workshop activities, operations support, operational logistics and local and international procurement.
Aug 99-Sep 02: Commissioning / Service Engineer
Joined Gas Services International / Weatherford Global in 1999.
In the summer of 2001-I project managed the remanufacture of two RDS-4 compressors driven by Waukesha L7042GSI engines. All aspects of this four-month project from design and rebuild through to delivery to Occidental of Oman, and followed by the onsite commissioning was all undertaken up by myself. Stage by stage photos of this is available upon request.
My day-to-day responsibilities included commissioning and start-ups of new and reconditioned reciprocating gas compressors and Waukesha and Caterpiller gas engines. Site visits to trouble shoot & rebuild client owned equipment was a large part of my roll, traveling extensively throughout the Middle East, Africa & Asia commissioning new compression packages supplied by GSI, and on occasion for Universal Compression, undertaking all mechanical, electrical & instrumentation tasks. Worked for clients such as BP-Amoco, BP-Pakistan, PDO, Shell, Shell Nigeria, Caltex, Exspan, Amerada Hess, Occidental, Ranger Oil, NPC, ABB, Hunt Oil, Clough, Cairn Energy & BHP.
June 98-Aug 99: Senior Mechanic
Joined BJ Process & Pipeline Services in Dubai. There I supervised all repairs, rebuilds, overhauls & any mechanical or electrical upgrades to all their rotating and nitrogen equipment. My duties also included the day-to-day management and supervision of all the workshop TCN.
Apr 97- June 98: Senior Service Engineer
Recruited by Aggreko Power Rental in the UK. I was then sent to Oman in the Middle East. My function was to undertake all maintenance and repair work both mechanical and electrical on their generator packages. Aggreko had only operated in Oman since September 1996, so I was also responsible for locating suppliers for all electrical and mechanical items required to keep a fleet of generators totaling 25 MVA running. Approximately 50% of my time was spent working in the interior of Oman working along side PDO providing power to their down hole electrical submersible pumping equipment in remote locations. I also commissioning projects such as 5 MVA synchronized with the grid, and 4.2 MVA synchronized as an island for the local Government.
Dec- July: Workshop Supervisor
1995- 1996 Offered and accepted a three month contract with Stevin Rock Joint
Venture in Ras-Al-Khaimar U.A.E. After the completion of this a further three months was offered and accepted. Duties included the organization of manpower within the workshop, ensuring that both maintenance and preventative maintenance and repairs were carried out to the large static and mobile plant equipment. Also responsible for all equipment involved within the 24hr barge loading operations including grabs, shovels, off highway dump trucks and tugboats. Further to this I oversaw the inspection and repair of their tugboats and barges whilst in Dubai Dry Dock for repair.
Feb- Dec: Plant Supervisor
1995 Joined Al Futtaim Wimpey in Dubai working on three major projects.
These consisted of a major roads and interchange project at Karama, the construction of the Deira City Center and an oil tanker berth in the Jebel Ali free zone. I subsequently left Wimpey due to the company take over by Tarmac.
1994-1995: Heavy Plant Fitter
Subcontracting to Short Bros Plant Ltd in British Steel's Redcar plant in the UK. I worked unsupervised on all aspects of plant equipment used by British Steel and Short Bros such as off highway dump truck, loading shovels, screens and crushing plants.
1993-1994 Plant Maintenance Supervisor
1993-1995 Wimpey International in Jordan. Because of the run down of staff in George Wimpey PLC in the UK, I was offered and accepted a contract in Jordan. Worked on all plant equipment involved in the construction of a potash treatment plant and supervised up to 40 Indian / Arab Nationals. Sent to Jordan initially to rebuild two mobile Grove crane's extensively damaged during shipping.
1991-1993: Plant Fitter
Fully qualified and skilled with George Wimpey PLC covering the hole of the North East of England. Worked on major projects such as the Enron Power Station caring out on site repairs.
1987-1991: Apprentice Plant Fitter
Four-year apprenticeship in Engineering Plant Maintenance with
George Wimpey PLC. Employed in Cleveland-England and successfully gained City and Guilds in this discipline.
