CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Total 14 years experience in oil refinery for inspection of process plants, corrosion monitoring, welding inspection and non-destructive inspection which includes 4 years experience in construction of process plant equipments in various projects.
Adequate exposure to on-stream shutdown inspection of various process plants like Crude Distillation units, Vacuum Distillation unit, Catalytic Cracking unit, Catalytic Reforming unit, Hydro cracker unit, Hydrogen unit, Naphtha Treater unit and Diesel Hydro treater units. Have hands on experience in specifying inspection requirements for procurement of materials, equipment and review of inspection and test plans, quality assurance plans.
Individually involved in inspection during construction of process plants and other facilities like Crude Distillation Unit (new and revamp), Fluidized Catalytic cracking unit revamp, Vacuum Distillation unit revamp, Hydrogen Generation Diesel Hydro Desulphurization unit, Butene-1 unit, LPG storage facility, Cross Country Piping, new offsite piping and new storage tanks.
Well versed with international standards like ASME, ASTM, ANSI, AWS, API and other local regulations.
ACHEVEMENTS
- Prepared inspection of expansion bellows.
- Recommendation and implementation of replacement of Expansion bellows, Catalyst transfer lines, and Orifice chamber and reactor external riser to cold wall design for better reliability.
- Recommended and implemented for replacement of purge type bellows to packed type and single ply bellows to two ply for better reliability
- Prepared procedure for successful weld repair of expansion bellow convolutions.
- Trouble shooting of mal-functioning of pilot operated safety valves during operation.
- Suggested for inclusion of protective coating and provision of anodes in coolers and condensers, which were not included in the design data sheets.
- Successfully handled projects like Crude distillation unit, FCCU Revamp, VDU Revamp, Mounded Bullets, Cross country piping, Butene-1 unit, Crude Distribution Piping, Storage tanks 15 nos. of various sizes.

1. Apr 2006 to Till date: Inspection Engineer, Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations, Abu Dhabi
Responsible for inspection activities of 150 oil/gas wells, two central processing plants, and connecting transfer lines, flow lines, Intelligent Pigging, onstream and offstream inspection of process plants.
2. May 2003 to Mar 2006: Deputy Manager (Inspection), Mathura Refinery, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Mathura, India a) On-stream inspection of Hydro cracker unit, Hydrogen generation Unit and Diesel Hydro treater Unit.
- Daily monitoring of reactor, heaters parameters in hydro cracker and diesel treater units.
- Corrosion monitoring of overhead circuit of hydro cracker main fractionators over head, Reactor effluent circuits.
- Reformer tube skin temperatures monitoring with pyrometers.
- Corrosion monitoring of BFW and steam circuits.
- Preparation of Shutdown job list of Hydro cracker, Hydrogen and Diesel treater units.

2. May 1999 to April 2003: Sr. Inspection Engineer, Gujarat Refinery, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Baroda, India a) Inspection of 3 Atmospheric Units and Catalytic Reforming Unit and Naphtha Treating unit.
- Daily monitoring of reactor, heaters parameters
- Corrosion monitoring of overhead circuits of crude columns, Naphtha treater stripper column, CRU stabilizer column.
- Corrosion monitoring of Reactor Effluent circuits in CRU and Naphtha treater
- Shutdown inspection of Catalytic reforming unit, Naphtha treating unit and Atmospheric crude distillation units.
- Failure analysis of Naphtha Treater overhead corrosion circuit b) Reformer revamps jobs: Addition of high alloy HP Modified reformer tubes, and replacement of all the SS-321 inlet pigtails with incoloy 800H.
Review and approval of Inspection and Test Plan, Welding procedure qualification, Stage inspection, Welder qualification, Radiography review, Witness of NDTs c) Shutdown inspection of Hydro cracker unit and Revamping of Vacuum Distillation unit.
Inspection of charge heaters, high pressure vessels, exchangers, columns operating in wet H2S, d) Construction of 5-nos. LPG mounded bullets as per BS-5500.

e) Laying of 5 nos. product lines under cross-country piping:
Design review of coating, Cathodic protection (temporary & permanent) procedures and quality plan, stage inspection, Review and approval of QAP/WPS/Quality assurance manual, CTE coating procedure, Stage wise inspection of all type of welding, coating, TCP activities.
f) Construction of Butene-1 plant.
Approval of Quality manual, Welding procedures, NDT Procedures, and Hydro testing procedures, Stage wise inspection of piping fabrication jobs.
- Recommended for provision of anodes in coolers and condensers, which was not specified by designer.
g) New Projects like VRDS, RFCC, LAB, Flare and Utility plants.
Comments were given for metallurgy selection for Hydrogen unit waste heat recovery boilers, cooler, exchangers, coolers and condensers, and commented for selection of type TEMA of buffer gas cooler.
