MAJOR CAREER ACHIEVEMENT:
During my employment tenure in Indo-German petrochemicals, as a group leader, I was responsible and successfully completed the major assignment of up gradation work of MOD-30 SCADA & Siemens PLC system to Yokogawa CENTUM-CS DCS, the largest existing system.Individually carried out the entire up gradation work for both Pthaliec & Maliec anhydride plants without the involvement of vendor engineer.

Duties and Responsibilities
Distributed Control Systems(DCS)--COMMISSIONING
1. Carry out loop designing, logic development and implementation for new loops.
2. Responsible to carry out upgradation of SCADA to Centum–CS DCS.
Responsible to carry out configuration on the said DCS. Carried out loop configs,system configs, logic developments, graphic building, etc.
3. Responsible to carry out required online configuration on DCS, SCADA,PLC and ESD systems.
4. Responsible to understand the process problems and develop new strategy on the said systems for smooth operation of the plant.
5. Posses good understanding of systems and carry out online addition of nodes and nest to the existing systems.
6. Responsible for system maintenance and to impart training to engineers.
7. Prepare loop wiiring,signal flow and logic diagrams.
8. Responsible for trouble shooting of the said systems.
9. To maintain detailed technical record of each system including storage and control of process computer software control configurations.
10. To Provide technical functional support to instrument engineers on complex control system faults.
11. To Prepare list of all the spares required and also from time to time checks material stock available and prepares materials requisition for the out of stock material and follow up the job till it is completed.
12. Responsible to carry out detail and design engineering work for upgraded projects.
13. Carry out detail study on the best use of the systems.

MAJOR CONTROL LOOPS COMMISSIONED:
1 Firing control of Boilers(lead-lag) & three elements drum level control.
2. Steam turbine speed control & megawatt control.
3. Steam header press control loops.
4. Carried out commissioning & tuning of Reactor complex loop involving ratio Cascade and end point control loops.

II FIELD COMMISSIONING & MAINTENANCE:
1. Carried out installation, commissioning, inspection, startup and maintenance jobs of 4 major petrochemical plants, Refinary,oil & gas.
2. Develop work procedures for existing works.
3. Write pre commissioning and commissioning procedures for new projects.
4. Determine work methods for existing maintenance work in accordance with established technical and professional engineering standards.
5. Carry out detail and design engineering work for some upgraded projects.
6. Provide necessary technical hints to instruments engineers to ensure timely completion of shutdown overhaul works. Notify and rectify contractor work defects.
7. Provide technical & functional support to instrument engineers on resolving complex control system faults
8. Carried out calibration of transmitters using dead weight testers, DP guages manometers, also carried out configuration using DCS software, hand held calibrators and front displays.
9. Carried out calibration of control valves, motorized valves, DPRV, PRV etc.
10. Carried out replacement and up gradation of pneumatic instruments with smart and intelligent instruments.
11. Plan preventive & shutdown jobs in advance,all the required spares, spec sheets & settings are arranged in advance also plan manpower distribution in advance.
12. Maintain and investigate component and system faults make recommendation to prevent a re-occurrence.
13. Responsible for imparting training about various instruments to instrument engineers Sr. technicians to maintain/improve their efficiency.
14. Keep good knowledge about Ex-proof instruments, Intrinsically safe instruments area classification, international codes & standards
15. Prepare required spare parts list and also from time to time check material stock available and prepare materials requisition for the out of stock material and to do necessary follow up.
16. Attend weekly meetings with Operation, Mechanical & Electrical departments.
17. whenever required carry out quotation work for small projects.

Control Valves: Fisher (U.K.), Arca (Germany & India), ILL,
Masonelian, Auma & Rappold (Motor operated Valves), Elo-Matics, Hytork, ABB and Orbit.

Flow Meters: Mass flow (Rosemount and Forbes Marshall), Vortex (Yokogawa), Magnetic meter (Yokogawa and Forbes Marshall), Annubar, Orifice, Turbine type & Oval wheel meters,Flow provers, Venturi, Ultrasonic flow meters(Instromet+controlotron).

Level Instrument: Radar, level troll, Enraff, ultrasonic, DP etc.

Fire & Gas System: Commissioned Seger 5704 series F&G Systems.

2) Three steam turbines each of 9MW having woodward 505 electronics speed controller and with bently Nevada vibration monitors.
3) Two oil heaters (intherma).
4) Reactors, mixed beds, bagging units, destillation units, bagging units, etc

Exposure on Centum-CS-DCS

Carried out upgradation of SCADA system to CENTUM-CS DCS, this job involved 120 open loops and around 500 closed loops. Following were the jobs carried out

1. Rewiring from scada to DCS for the entire loops.
2. IO configuration for all the tags.
3. Block configurations.
4. Logic building.
5. Graphic building.
6. Trend assigning.
7. control block, key configs.
8. Alarm table, switch blocks.
9. Station and action configurations.
10. Addition of new nodes and nest.
11. Software loading on the FCS and ICS.
12. Tuning of loops from simple to complex.

The above mission was completed in seven days period and this was done with out prior planning. This job was performed at Indo-German Petrochemicals, Taloja, Mumbai for Pthyliac Anhydride plant.

After this mission lot of other jobs were carried out, all these were successfully completed with out effecting the plant operation. Carried out addtion of nest and nodes, carried out loop design and completed all the jobs successfully with out any problems.

After the above mission upto the period I stayed in IGPL we never required any help from yokogawa india for the above jobs.

I have good understanding of different controls like Lead lag for Boiler, Antisurge for compressors, Turbine speed control, etc. Capable of designing new loops and logics based on the process data.
