DETAILS OF EXPERIENCE:
1) From July 2006 to till date:
Joined Kuwait National Petroleum Company, Kuwait as an Instrumentation Engineer in the Project Department.
Presently, I am working for MOIP – Phase I (Modernization of Obsolete Instrumentation Project). This project deals with up-gradation of instrumentation system.
The job includes:
* Review of engineering documents submitted by EPC contractor and vendor.
* Review of P&ID and data sheets
* Review of hook up drawings
* Development of functional design specification (FDS) for DCS/ESD
* Up-gradation of the following instrumentation/control system:
- RS3 DCS to Delta-V system (Emerson control system)
- Relay logics to TMR/QMR based ESD system
- All field instrumentation to smart instrumentation
- Installation of flow metering system and flow computers with DCS interface.
- Manual tank gauges to replace by radar tank gauging(RTG) system
- MOVs and its master station connectivity to DCS and ESD system
2) From September 2002 to June 2006:
Joined AL-JUBAIL PETROCHEMICAL COMPANY (KEMYA), Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia as an Instrumentation Engineer. Kemya is manufacturing LLDPE, LDPE and Ethylene / Propylene through Olefin Cracker plant.
I worked as an Instrumentation Engineer in the Maintenance Dept. for LLDPE & Olefin Cracker plant.
- Worked in the Turn-around (T/A 2006) for cracker plant, LLDPE, LDPE & Utilities.
- Worked in KEMYA's Fanar Project (SAP) phase II. This FANAR project deals with making database such as Bill of Materials, task listing, classification activities, etc for SAP Plant Maintenance Module. Worked for Olefin cracker plant.
Responsibilities:
* To carry out day to day, weekly, preventive maintenance and emergency shutdown planning job, arranging materials, spare parts maintainability, co-ordination with other maintenance dept. to execute the instrument related jobs & provide support to carry out other dept. maintenance jobs, preparing SMPs for instrumentation.
* To implement the plant change request (PCRs) or design change request (DCRs) - modifications arise in the existing instrumentation system for LLDPE, LDPE, Olefin cracker and Offsites plant at KEMYA site. The job involves review of design specification, bill of materials, raising purchase request for materials, installation and commissioning of the instrumentation system and update the records.
* Jobs were carried out in Plant maintenance module in SAP.
3) From March 1998 to September 2002:
Joined M/s Reliance Petroleum Ltd. (Refinery), Jamnagar, Gujarat, India as Deputy Manager (Instruments) in the year March 1998. This is the world largest grass root refinery, promoted by M/s Reliance Industries Ltd.
- Worked in the total instrumentation activities such as erection, inspection, logic development, review of P&ID, checking of data sheet with P&ID, providing hookup drawing for field instruments, supported in developing function design specification (FDS), construction activities, listing pre-commissioning activities, attending PSSR (Pre-start-up safety review) and commissioning of

Responsibilities:
* Worked as a Lead Engineer - Instruments.
* Attended day-to-day maintenance problems, executed modification jobs in the existing instrumentation system (in DCS- Intelligent Automation of Foxboro), spares planning and maintaining, attending production meeting, budget planning, conducting tool box talks, execution of breakdown maintenance and preventive maintenance, providing technical assistance to construction dept. & minor project cell for modification arose in the plant based on plant change request (PCR) or plant change order (PCO), trouble shooting of interlock in DCS, PLC, controllers, F&G systems with ESD system & HVAC, other field instruments.
* Ensures the performance of the contractor job as per standard & clearing contractor's invoices upon job completion and satisfaction.
* Making reports on failures and implement the corrective action upon analysis.
* Check lists were made for daily and periodical checks on the instrumentation system depends upon the failure rate and criticality.
* Reviewing spare parts periodically, advices stock level upon requirement using SPIR (Spare parts inter-changeability record) format, suggesting alternative instruments by identifying suitable spares to minimize the inventory cost. Accordingly, PR (Purchase Request) was raised.
* Work experience in SAP R/3 for day-to-day maintenance activities in Plant Maintenance module.
4) From August 1991 to March 1998:
Joined M/s Manali Petrochemical Ltd., Manali, Chennai (SPIC group of organization), India as an Engineer trainee in the year August 1991, had been promoted to Deputy Manager (Instruments) in the maintenance dept., manufacturing Propylene glycol, Propylene oxide, Propylene glycol mono methyl ether (PGMME) and Polyols.
- Worked in the erection and commissioning of PGMME plants such as installation, calibration and loop checking of field instruments and assigning loops, generation of graphics, sequence logic etc in DCS(Centum-XL of Yokogawa), Trip interlock system in PLC (984-B of Modicon Gould)
- Some of the DCS I/Os & field instruments used initially for Di-Chloro propane (DCP) were re-vamped and modified to suit for PGMME plant loops. The job involves identifying I/Os & field instruments, up-dating instruments loop diagram, data sheets, identifying material take-off, providing hook up drawings, modification in instruments tubing, re-routing of cables to the assigned junction boxes, loop checking, re-ranging of transmitters & DCS face tag and executed functional test.

* Worked as a Shift-in-charge –Instruments, carried out the jobs and trouble shoot the problems arose during the shift for all the plants.
* Troubleshoot the logic and interlock problems in DCS/PLC for batch process – Polyol plant & other continuous process plants as required by the operation
