(12) Work Experience

June 1996 - June 1997: I got my degree of Bachelor of Engineering in Petroleum from Yangon Institute of Technology in 1996. I worked at Thanlynn Golf Club as a manager for one year.

July 1997 – Present: As I am interested in Petroleum subject, I submitted my application form to BAKER HUGHES SOLUTIONS in Mann Oil Field in July 1997. Since that time, I have been working for BAKER HUGHES SOLUTIONS. Later handed over to MYANMAR PETROLEUM AND RESOURCES LIMITED. I have been working in Mann Oil Field for seven years.
At the beginning, I was assigned for data gathering, well log interpretations and annotations, decline curves annotations and constructing of cross section panels at head quarter. It was at the beginning of the project. Major assignment was collecting and preparation of data for well files. Later, I was also assigned as a team leader of geoscience supporting group. I had to assist expatriates who worked for our project. Major assignments were filing field reports, gathering and organizing echo-dynamometer results, oil production rates, BHP and BHT results, gyro results and workover reports. I worked at geoscience supporting group for one year.
Then I was assigned as a field operations engineer to get field experience in June 1998. The project is exploration and enhancement project. Since June 1998, I worked as a pulling unit and workover supervisor for one year. As a pulling unit supervisor, I had to supervise workover operations such as pump servicing, well clean out operations, well stimulation (swabbing, crude oil circulation and crude oil injection), perforation operations, well completion operations and installation of PC pumps. I have been working as a production engineer in BAKER HUGHES EXPLORATION and PRODUCTION in Mann Oil Field. Assignments were not only for measuring and verifying production rates of about 300 wells but also for the maintenance of surface equipments (pumping units, wellhead equipments and oil flow lines), running echo and dynamometer and watching well behaviors, hourly rates and daily production rates. In the morning, I had to check production for all wells to calculate field total production. Then also arranged to make trouble shootings for not pumping wells and less pumping wells. If necessary, checked by running echo and dynamometer. Then made trouble shootings and prioritized for the problem wells and arranged for workover operations or pump servicing. Every two hours, I had to also check hourly rates of about 300 producing wells at oil and gas collection stations. I also had to plan for maintenance and installations of surface equipment such as pumping units, electricity overhead lines, wellhead equipments and flow lines. Those were my normal daily basis assignments.
In 2001 I was promoted as a senior production engineer (Engineering & Planning). As a senior production engineer, I have to monitor all production operations especially for rig movement planning for priority wells, material planning, preparing well programs and assisting to field operations manager to provide field operations efficiently. I am also familiar with wellview software, well analyzer software, total well management software (same as well analyzer) and q-rod software those I usually use in my work.
