EXPERIENCE SUMMARY:

24 years in the Oil and Gas Industry. 12 as Shell Expro Staff, 12 as a Contractor. Initially trained as a Production Supervisor for the Sullom Voe Terminal, Shetland, becoming instead a Senior Terminal Inspector looking after the interests of Brent System partners. Moved to Aberdeen as the Assistant Pipeline Supervisor Northsea, responsible for operational pigging and internal pipeline maintenance and inspection.

I have primarily worked as a Client Representative/Project Manager on a number of Major Pipeline Projects for Shell Chemicals UK, Shell Nigeria, Statoil Norway, Phillips Petroleum Norway, BP Vietnam and Phillips Petroleum UK. Projects that I have been involved in or wholly reponsible for the precommissioning and commissioning of are:- Nam Con Son, Magnus EOR, Asgard A & B, Renee/Rubie, Ekofisk Bypass, Haltenpipe, Sleipner Vest, Troll Oljeror, Zeepipe Phase's I & II, Europipe I & II, North West Ethylene Pipeline etc.

Responsiblities have covered most aspects of Pipeline Construction, Operation, Inspection, Precommissioning and Commissioning both Onshore and Offshore from Conceptual Design, Engineering, Procedure Development, Risk Analysis, Hazid/op, Scheduling, Planning, Contractor Management, and Field Supervision. Activities Include the precommissioning and commissioning of product Export and Reception Facilities both onshore and offshore.

Products/chemicals handled have been, Oil, Gas, Condensate, Diesel, Ethylene, Nitrogen, Glycol, Methanol, Caustic Soda, Air, Steam and Water. Pipelines have ranged in size from 3" to 40", and 1.0 Km to 815 Km in length. They have included Hard Pipe, Flexible risers and hoses and Composite pipe laid as stand alone systems, piggy backed or in bundles at elevations from -3000 ft to +1600 ft wrt sea level and at pressures ranging from 0 to 650 bar.

The work involves managing the operations including third party interfaces, planning, scheduling, engineering, procedure review, risk assessment and Contractor supervision onshore and offshore. The scope involves Flooding, cleaning gauging, hydrotesting, dewatering, drying and nitrogen filling.

Responsibilities: -

All aspects of the precommissioning and commissioning activities associated with 4.7km. 16" diameter flowline from subsea wells to the Lan Tay Platform and the 372km. 26" diameter export pipeline and export facilities from the Lan Tay platform to the onshore reception facilities at the Dinh Co Terminal, including third party interfaces, scheduling, engineering, procedure review, risk assessment and Contractor supervision onshore and offshore. The scope included Subsea Flexible Hoses, Subsea Templates, Topside Pipework, 13% Chrome Flowlines for oil gas/condensate production at a water depth of 120 m.

Establishing the work site at Sullom Voe Terminal including, BJ/SVT/BP interfaces, temporary water supply, equipment laydown and bunded areas. Overall supervision and control of the dewatering & drying operations based at Sullom Voe Terminal.

The scope included Topside Pipework, Subsea Templates, Bundled Flowlines for oil production and gas injection including Bundle Heating Medium and Methanol service lines at a water depth of 325 m.

Supervising the precommissioning and commissioning activities associated with the Asgard B facility (as above) including the provision of technical support and problem solving as and when required.

Verification, testing and modification of the pigs used in the above activities to confirm their reliability and fitness for purpose.

Norway - Witness the pre-mobilisation and final acceptance trials of the Remotely Operated Isolation Plug at the manufacturers base in Stavanger and confirmed piggability of tool through the platform topside pipe work and riser features.

Dubai - Verified cleaning and gauging pig design for piggability through platform topside pipework and riser features. Engineered and Supervised changes to pigs to ensure fitness for purpose.

Singapore - Determined and demonstrated piggability of the topside isolation check valves and pig trap isolation valves using scale drawing for client. Carried out Hazid/Hazop on isolation procedures.

Third party interface at senior management level with personnel from the Project, Offshore Platforms, Onshore Terminals and Operations addressing Engineering and Operations issues.

Supervision of a team of Project Engineers involved in the preparation of Isolation Procedures and providing Technical Support to the project team involved in other associated pipeline activities.

Overall supervision of the offshore teams responsible for the installation and positioning of the 36" Emden and 34" Teesside Isolation Pig Trains at Ekofisk including recovery of the 36" pigs at the B11 Platform during startup of the Emden gas line.
