Lost circulation, Gumbo, Hole collapse, Deep Water (up to 785 metres), Overpressure, Running gravel, Extended reach (up to 7,300 metres horizontal stepout), High angle (up to 97º), Dog-legs and Key-seating, Stuck Pipe, High densities (up to 2.57 sg), High temperatures (up to 200o C), Kicks, Fast weight-ups (1.44 sg to 2.10 sg in one hit), Cement contamination, Carbonate/Bicarbonate contamination, Zechstein brine flows in synthetic oil muds, Divalent ion contamination of silicate muds, Oil contamination of water-based muds offshore (unable to dump), Underground blowouts, Blowout relief wells, Use of floating mud caps, Failed casing shoes. Use of ultra-high-value cesium formate fluids.

EDUCATION:
BSc. (Honours) Geology, University of Sheffield, 1978. MSc (Eng) course in Control Engineering and Information Technology, University of Sheffield, 1986-87 (not completed.)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Trained in legislation pertaining to regulated industries, such as COSHH and HASAWA.
Full UK driving license with no endorsements or penalty points. Hold two UK passports.

OTHER INTERESTS:
