Responsibilities included
Summary of Major Duties & Responsibilities

* To plan, direct and participate in providing process technology related services for the plant and.
* To initiate studies, conduct process audits and recommend plant modifications to improve efficiency, productivity, safety, cost savings and technology updates.
* To provides process design and engineering for plant modification projects. Reviews plant operating data on a daily basis and advises on optimization of process operations.
* Design and implement special testing programs as necessary to anticipate, evaluate and resolve process problems.
* To participate in HAZOP studies for all proposed plant modifications with representatives from operations, maintenance, safety and inspection.
* Participates in HAZOP report preparation and recommendations.
Performance evaluation of centrifugal compressors, heat exchangers, pipe and fittings, pumps, tanks, Steam & Gas turbines, Control valves, vessels, pressure relief and pressure protection system
* Evaluate requests for plant modification, revamping, de-bottlenecking; recommends appropriate solutions and proposes changes as necessary; gather, researches and analyze pertinent data and information and prepares recommendations with supporting technical data.
* Prepares Process Flow Diagrams, Energy and Material Balance Tables, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams. Conducts process simulation on computer using standard software packages.eg Hysis, Engineering Aid, Process Tools, Win Sim etc.
* Prepare process data sheets for equipment and instruments. Participate as a functional member of HAZOP (Hazard & Operability) and HAZAN (Hazard Analysis) review teams.

Provide technical support to Projects on design matters during detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing, installation and commissioning stages of projects, which often involves site visits.
* Prepare and presents technical papers to Line/Senior Management from time to time to promote designs and / or strategies.

Inspects Contractor, Consulting Engineer and Vendor premises and witness Factory/Site Acceptance Tests, as required.

Participates as a member of Health, Safety and environmental review team.
* Implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles for identification, understanding and control of Hazards.
* Management of Process Safety in Operation, maintenance and in process modifications.
* responsible for the enforcement of safety rules and regulations, maintaining safe working conditions, and immediately correcting reported or recognized unsafe acts or conditions affecting personnel and facilities. To ensure that adequate training is conducted.
* Implementing Process Safety Information, process Hazards Analysis, Operating procedures, pre-Start Up safety review, Mechanical Integrity, Safe work practices, Management of change, Incident Investigation, Emergency planning and response, Compliance Audit, Training of employees and contractor control.
* Developing and implementing plant operating procedures and check-lists
* Enforcement of safety rules and regulations and maintaining safe working conditions.
* Budget preparation and monitoring
* Staffing and performance evaluation.
* Planning routine and Turnaround maintenance jobs and execution.
