1. SAUDI ELECTRICITY CO. /SAUDCONSULT Eng. Services-SAUDI ARABIA: As Site Manager/Senior Engineer, my Projects/Site Supervision is related to SEC-WRB (Jeddah) works for Sub Stations and Transmission Lines. It includes inspection of installation activities, coordinating/witnessing the testing & Commission activities, coordination between Civil, Electrical, Mechanical works at S/S, monitoring safety and quality, coordinating meetings, issuing site instruction to contractor etc.
2. WATER AND POWER DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY –PAKISTAN: I got the experience of Construction, Installation, Inspection, Testing and Commissioning of EHV/HV equipment at 220/132/66 KV Sub Stations including power transformers, circuit breakers, CTs, VTs, all type of relays and various protection schemes. I also continue the experience for review of drawings, schemes and get some experience for relay setting calculations.
3. SAUDI ELECTRIC COMPANY (SEC-ER) JUBAIL- SAUDI ARABIA: During my association with SEC, I supervise/coordinate the construction of new Sub Station, Transmission Lines, up-gradation/modification of existing system including Review of Base design, Detail Design, As Built Drawings and providing comments on design of all substation equipment. My responsibilities also include inspection of material and construction, erection of electrical equipment supervising the testing/commissioning activities etc.
4. WATER AND POWER DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY –PAKISTAN: During this phase (05-10-1995 to 24-01-2003) of my association with WAPDA, I had acquired profound knowledge of Maintenance/Fault tracing/Trouble shooting/Attending Breakdowns at large number of Grid stations and transmission lines including 33/66/132/220 kV systems. I supervise the repairing of a large number of substation electrical equipment like power transformers, C.B`s, HV Power cables etc. and attending maintenance/breakdowns of 220/132/66 kV O/H Transmission Lines.
5. KARACHI NUCLEAR POWER PLANT- PAKISTAN: 28-05-1994 to30-09-1995 was the most sophisticated On-Job-Training I had acquired. The study of Nuclear Power Engineering (un completed) also gives me new vision for my future career.

DETAILED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
28.11.05 SAUDI ELECTRICITY CO-WRB (SAUDCONSULT) -SAUDI ARABIA
To today Site Manager / Senior Engineer
Responsibilities a) Working as Site Manager for all matters related to construction quality assurance of electrical works at 380 kV & 110 kV sub stations.
b) Monitoring the civil, electrical & electrical works for conformance with the provisions of the Contract Documents and the Procedures manual.
c) Coordinate and supervise the work of all electrical, civil, mechanical activities (material approval, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning and proper operation after energization).
d) Receive/action Request for Information (RFI) that apply to electrical, civil & mechanical works.
e) Review contractors' claims related to construction works. Assist in negotiations with contractors regarding the value of claims or changes in schedules.
f) Witness the testing and commissioning of the electrical works if no other electrical site engineer is available.
g) Approve the contractors' mark-up drawings and O&M manual submittals.
h) Assist the final inspection of the work. Review the adequacy and accuracy of punch lists. Monitor final completion of the work. Inspection of S/S material while manufacturing; arrived at site etc.
i) Evaluate the progress reports submitted by the contractor related to civil, electrical, mechanical activities.
j) Check the work as per specification, approved drawings and standards.

26.11.05 Assistant Manager (Transmission& Grid Construction)
Responsibilities 1: Engineering a) Construction of new 220/132/66 kV Transmission Lines & Grid stations.
b) Attending breakdowns of existing 220/132/66 kV Transmission Lines & S/S.
c) Review of drawings and propose modifications (if any) as per requirement of project, site or field formation.
d) Inspection of the equipment/material received at site.
e) Coordinate and supervise the testing/commissioning activities of Transmission Lines & Grid stations.
2: Project Management a) To collect/keep the record of all documents for the projects b) Supervise all activities of the on-going projects.

4: Testing & Commissioning
Inspection, pre-commissioning and commissioning testing of new substation equipment like power transformers, H.T Circuit breakers, H.T isolators, C.T, P.T, 11 kV Panel Boards, station batteries, battery chargers, different type of relays, 220/132 kV transmission lines etc. Following testing carried out at various equipments:
a) T.T.R test, C&DF tests of winding insulation and H.T bushings, Open circuit/Short circuit test, winding resistance test, Dielectric strength of Oil, DGA analysis of power transformers.
b) Hi-Pot testing and meggering of various equipment.
c) Time, Contact resistance, Purity and Dew point testing of (SF6) CBs.
d) Ratio testing of P.T's. Current ratio, Knee point testing of C.T's e) Hi-Pot, Impedance, Capacitance, Jacket, Sheath testing of Hi-voltage power cables.
f) Testing of current- and voltage transformers. Polarity test, Ratio test, Knee point test, insulation resistance test and megger test.

Responsibilities a) Review the Base design, Detail Design, IFC and As-Built Drawings of new Sub Station, Transmission Lines or up-gradation/modification of existing system.
b) Review of; and providing comments on protection drawings, relay setting calculations, C.T calculations, relay test procedures (ITP) etc.
c) Coordinate/Monitor the activities of the on going projects to ensure that construction/installation is according to SEC standards and requirements.
d) Testing/commissioning activities of Power Transformers, Gas Insulated System (GIS), Circuit breakers (SF6, VCB, and OCB), Control & Relay panels, 230/115/34.5 cables etc. The Power cable testing involved;
e) Propose the changes/modifications according to IEC/ANSI or SEC standards: in existing system of Sub Stations & Transmission Lines by keeping in view the difficulties of field staff or any defect/deficiency in equipment.
