Introduction
This report will explain the outline of my working experiences since graduation in May 1997 from University Putra Malaysia in Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical/System). I was started to join multibillion companies Megasteel Sdn Bhd at Banting Selangor which is under Lion Group of Company in July 1997. After 6 and half year later I was left that company and joining a new company Stagno Tech Sdn Bhd based in Kuala Lumpur,
A lot of experiences were gained in both of company, which is mainly involved in tender document, installation, testing and commissioning, plant repair / maintenance and upgrading. I also had attended several in house training and external training which respect to my engineering knowledge and expertise.

Megasteel Sdn Bhd — Executive Mechanical
- 0 Project Executive (July 1997 — Mac 1999)
First I was joining in Megasteel Sdn Bhd, 1 was assigned under project team to setup for new plant Megsteel Sdn Bhd worth RM 2.5 Bil. Megasteel Sdn Bhd are the first company produces the Steel Plate in Malaysia. Apart from project I was responsible to handle a few projects that were assigned by Section Head. The scopes of work for the project consist of to identify for specification, tendering and doing the comparison and evaluation such as;
- To prepare the proposal and doing the study work to setup centralized workshop for Megasteel Sdn Bhd and provide the technical specification to purchase new Machineries with various capacity to support plant maintenance.
- To prepare the tender document to purchase 3 units of Centrifugal Centac Air Compressor which is the capacity 5020 cfm completed with refrigerator Dryer for the capacity (11000 cfm) and also responsible to understand the P & I diagram for in plant piping and provide the compilation of bill of material for compressed air piping and auxiliaries equipment plant.
- To prepare the tender document to purchase 30 units of low capacity (1 — 30 Ton) and 14 units of high capacity crane (40 — 280 Ton)
- 1 Coordinating and supervise the installation works and commissioning.
Responsible to supervise, coordinate during installation work for the above project. During the installation stage my duties are;
- Manage schedule cost by preparing and reviewing the project cost records and continuously monitoring variation order.
- Coordinating technical specification with the civil and structure consultant.
- Site supervision of erection, pressure test, hydrostatic test, NDT and pipe cleaning work for compress air piping and auxiliaries' equipment plant.
- Involve in testing and commissioning for compressed air system, pressure vessel, rotation equipment, machinery etc
- 0 Plant Maintenance (April 99 — September 2003)
After the plant was completed and I was assigned under Utility Department which is consist of a few area
- Centralized Workshop/Utilities
As a leader I was responsible to taking care one supervisor and 10 technicians will report under me. My job scopes are monitoring all the work for fabrication and machine that was requested by other department. I also responsible to make sure the entire work request to be complete within the time required. Continuously part for machining the equipment such as Mould and Shear Blade from Mould and Segment Shop Dept will monitor closely in order to avoid any cause of delayed. To provide and establish the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) for the technician and also conduct in house training for them in order to increase their competency and efficiency. To carry out the plant modification such for upgrading and fabrication/machining parts requested by end user/plant department. Beside the workshop the others scope of work involved in maintenance such centralized air condition system — chiller, cooling tower, AHU, etc all type of air condition units… To prepare the workshop activities to the monthly report and submit to the head of department.

- Dust Collector System/Water Treatment plant/Air Compressor
I have 2 supervisors and 12 technicians to doing the maintenance for dust collector system/water treatment plant and air compressor system. This system integrated to the whole production line and cause of the failure this system will cause of interruption the plant operation. So apart from that the following equipment need to carry out for maintenance. The main equipments as follows:

Lubrication
Parts of preventive maintenance task in the plant are to do periodic lubrication change, lubrication improvement and oil analysis. Oil and grease are vital for rotating equipment and a CMMS program like lube oil change is needed for it's to run smoothly and life longer. For some big single critical equipment or oil circulation systems in large volume, periodic changes is unsuitable thus oil analysis is required to determine the oil condition whether the properties ok or not for equipment to withstand.
Condition Monitoring
All the data came from bearing Vibration, Oil temperature for Main Fan and Booster Fan, pressure differential for filter bags for Bag house, water cool duct temperature and etc will monitor and recorded by Siemens S5 PLC program. All the parameter has been set and configure by manufacturer for example the bearing vibration for main fan and booster fan not exceed to 7 mm/sec, oil temperature not exceed 70 C. The alarm will triggered if there any abnormalities or deviation from normal running condition and action to be taken in order to rectify the problem.
For the certain equipment the manual checking will implement by technician and recorded to the log sheet.
Beside that also the static equipment need to monitor such as compressed air piping, pressure vessel for the DOSH Inspection.
The CMMS (Centralized Maintenance Monitoring System) is the database that to assist and monitor planning of the maintenance for the equipment.
Equipment Major Repair and Overhaul
In Order to gets good the maintenance, the planning for major repair need to establish in order to increase the equipment availability and life span. In this case, the equipment that need to major repair/overhaul will identify form the condition monitoring. Before implementing any major repair work the scope of work need to establish and identify whether require external contractor/specialist, spare part availability etc. The implementation the engineering practice required during the major repair or overhaul.
Store Management for Spare Part availability
Spare parts availability is very important for maintenances and cause of the lack of spare will effect to the plant operation. In the Megasteel Sdn Bhd they are using the System AS 400 to monitor the spare inventory in order to control minimum level of stock.
Root Cause Analysis
The repetitive problem on equipment during production will causes of the down time and this issue will rise up during department meeting chaired by Head Department every week. Certain cases required specialist to discuss and find the best solution to avoid the repetitive problem occurred.
Plant Equipment Improvement
To study and prepare the proposal for upgrading of the system such as
- To study air consumption for the whole plant and proposed to install additional unit due to high demanding for plant equipment. Also to modify the additional new piping line for refrigerant air dryer for maintenance excess.
- To design a new piping above ground for Fire hydrant System due to existing piping having repetitive problem such leaking, broken etc.
- To design and install additional LPG piping for Nozzle Burner at point Caster 16 m Platform and +0 m ground floor for Ladle preheat.
- To design and install new piping for carbon powder for the Furnace at Steel Melt Shop.
Stagnotech Sdn Bhd
Position: Mechanical Engineer
Period of Service: October 2003 — Present
I was join Stagnotech Sdn Bhd ealrly or October 2003 as Mechanical Engineer and responsible to prepare the Participate in daily, weekly, 3 monthly, yearly, and 5 yearly planning processes order 100% functionality for Ride Car, Flight Simulator system and etc at Petrosains KLCC. To monitor condition for drive belt pulley, structure track, hydraulic pump in good condition by regular checking as stated in Central Monitoring Maintenance System (CMMS).To prepare the root cause analysis for any cases of breaks down of the system and finds out the solution to avoid the same case happen. I also appointed as Internal Auditor for ISO 9001-2000. Keep monitoring the spare available. To prepare the department activities to the monthly report and submit to the head of department.
