Shell St. Fergus Instrument Engineer - Seconded to Shell Golden Eye project team responsible for writing commissioning procedures for live changeover of Process Trips and ESD/EDP signals from existing system to new installation. Also commissioned by Foster Wheeler to write the Metering Maintenance Procedures for Ultrasonic and Coriolis metering skids. October 02 - March 03 METCO Services UK Lan Tay Platform - BP Vietnam Metering Specialist - Responsible for ensuring the Lan Tay Coriolis and Ultrasonic Metering systems are fully operational before first gas, implementing maintenance routines and training local technicians to operate and maintain the metering equipment to the correct standards. November 01 - October 02 METCO Services Asia Pacific (Singapore) Area Account Manager / Metering Engineer - Working within the AOS Division of Emerson Process Management, setting up the Asia Pacific office for METCO in Singapore. Responsibilities include upfront marketing and creating business in Asia. Carrying out Site visits and Engineering work where appropriate. Managing any Metering contracts created in Asia. Training local staff in Emerson departments throughout Asia. Liasing with the other departments in AOS and Emerson Process Management in Singapore. Working as part of a small team of expats to set up the basic operation, operating procedures, safety, maintenance and CBTA training systems necessary with a view of handing over to Myanmar National employees. November 1995 - August 99 China Light and Power Ltd Blackpoint Power Station Gas Operations Engineer: - Part of a team of four responsible for all activities pertaining to the control and monitoring of the fuel gas supply to the Power Station. Main duties included commissioning,operating, maintaining and training for the Daniels 2551 Gas Chromatographs and Michell 'Condumax' Hydrocarbon Dewpoint analyser. Responsible for maintenance and training in Gas Fiscal metering using OMNI flow computers. This included setting up procedures and delegating different departments their responsibilities.Carrying out "Check Metering" on the Sellers metering facilities in both Hong Kong and China (Hainan Island). Liasing with the Seller and the 'Third Party' on all aspects of Quality Measurement and sampling techniques. Reviewing maintenance procedures on all the gas related instrumentation especially the "Ex" class equipment. Latter duties consisted of writing a Gas Measurement Manual for corporate use and acting as consultant to assist the Legal Department with a litigation case against the Gas Seller. August 1989 - November 1995 Shell Expro St. Fergus Gas Plant Operations and Maintenance Technician:- Jan 1994 - November 1995 - Seconded to the Contract Management Team 'P.C.E.' to assist in the planning and co-ordinating of all work necessary during the changeout of the Control Room from mainly pneumatic and electronic controllers to the TDC 3000 System whilst the Plant was still 'Live'. Main duties included, producing the Changeover method statements; Jobcarding work; Identifying, planning, co-ordinating and supervising shutdowns and Planning and implementing Early Removals to create space and allow ease of transfer of control loops. 1993-1994 - Assistant Instrument Supervisor during 4 month Module Shutdown. Main duties included identifying, planning, co-ordinating and supervising all 'shutdown' maintenance routines. Organising all aspects of Instrument work in a major upgrade of the John Brown Turbine / Elliot Compressor. Including assistance in installation and commissioning of CCC Anti-Surge equipment. Carried out tasks related to a Control Room Panel Operator. 1990-1992 - Progressed to a Control Room Panel Operator. Maintenance periods is usually spent on breakdown and emergency repair work, with occasional routine preventative maintenance routines. 1989-1990 - Carried out Process Operations training for 6 months while working 2 months / 1 month Operations / Maintenance Cycle. March 1989 - August 1989 - SGS Redwood Ltd. Total - North Alwyn Metering Technician:- Routine preventative maintainance and breakdown work on all Oil and Gas Fiscal metering, incorporating Spectratek Helios System and analytical instruments.
