PROFILE
A highly skilled Senior Inspector Welding/Construction Supervisor with over 30 years as a specialist in the fabrication industry in Europe, The Middle and Far East.
Qualified in welding inspection, ultrasonic and radiographic interpretation, and up to date construction techniques, supported by in-depth knowledge of petrochemical plants, offshore structures, pipelines, power stations, oil refineries and gas compression modules and rig building.
An excellent man-manager with good communication skills, who has a wealth of experience of quality assurance and control, welding inspection and construction supervision together with NDE co-ordination.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
Advised & supervised Keppel Tuas Shipyard personnel together with their sub-contractors during the conversion of the 150,000 ton Chevron London into the F.P.S.O. Cossack Pioneer. Ensured that the project was completed safely within the quality guidelines, time and budget schedules.
Formed key role in a successful new build Jack-up 2000 project for the GlobalSantaFe Corporation, involving two rigs Constellation I & I I, at a total value of $250 million.
Formed key role in achieving a world record in building the Oveng/Okume TLP's & Integrated Decks in twelve months at the Samsung Heavy Industries Geoje Island Shipyard, South Korea.
CAREER
2006 to 2006
Structural/Piping Supervisor: Epeus Services – Malaysia
Appointed to carry out a short Structural/Piping survey on the MW Kent located offshore Labuan Island Sabah Malaysia. After the survey the rig is going a shipyard in Johor for a re-activation programme.
2006 to 2006
Structural Supervisor: Transocean Inc – South Korea
Appointed to supervise a short repair/upgrade project on the Transocean Legend prior to the rig going on location at Sakhalin for BP. The work was carried out offshore Busan, South Korea.
Duties consisted of but not limited to advising and monitoring:
Repair to damage caused by the Hull (Column) Plating being rammed by a Supply Boat. Reviewed WPS, Welder Qualifications and NDE requirements.
Helideck Tubular Structure repair due to corrosion.
Installation of a new Mud Gas Separator and associated pipe work.
Mud Pump high pressure piping.
Foundations for the Riserless Mud Return Equipment.
All blasting and painting activities of repair areas.
All the above information was achieved safely in budget and on time.
2004 to 2006
Lead Structural Inspector (Topsides): Modec International LLC – South Korea
Appointed to form key role in the construction of the Oveng/Okume TLP & Integrated Decks.
Reported directly to, and solely responsible to the Topsides Supervisor and the Project Site Manager.
Responsible for overseeing and supervising three local hired structural inspectors.
Liaising with the following site team members, Dimensional Control Supervisor, Lead Piping Inspector, Painting Inspector and the E&I personnel, together with controlling the SHI QA, Line QC and SHI Production teams.
Carried out Equipment Level and Location checks together with signing off Mechanical Completion Reports
Qualifying welding procedures and welders, establishing and maintaining QA/QC procedures, producing all necessary project documentation, and performing audits within the shipyard and potential vendors.
Monitored weekly welding repair rates and advised the Topsides Supervisor and Project Site Manager on methods for controlling any excessive repair ratio's.
Established of a strong Consumable Control Procedure required for welding 50AZ and 50A material for the TLP Hull and Topsides.
Ensured stringent ISO 9001 quality standards compliance
Attended progress meetings, monitoring the closeout of Punch Lists, TQ's, ECN, NCR's and RIS's.
