Plant Details-Gas Separation Plant at Ob-Ob Nigeria
It is the most advanced DCS controlled Gas separation plant (24 millions scmd NGL/LNG) having the following systems and equipments,
* Arrival manifold-oil flow lines from various oil producing wells, gas re-injection pipe lines etc.,
* Gas/Oil separators- high, medium and low-pressure separators, oil stabilization towers, and oil delivery system.
* C02 Removal plant with absorbers, regenerators, reboilers, carbon filters, condensers, steam boilers, DM water treatment plant, various process pumps.
* Gas dehydration plants with glycol contactors, regenerators, flash drums, gas heaters etc.,
* Molecular sieve separators, Mercury removal units, Demethinizer columns, condensers, evaporators, turbo expanders, gas liquefaction and NGL storage /delivery systems.
* Gas compression and reinjection systems-low, medium and high-pressure turbo compressors.
* API skimmers, oil recovery, burning pit, flaring and waste water treatment & disposal systems.
Oil Flow stations
* There are 6 different oil flow stations functioning under our control in the land area supplying about Capacity 250,000 BPD crude oil.
* Gas /Oil separators, gun barrel tank, gas boot, gas compression, crude oil delivery, API skimmer oil recovery, burning pit, flaring and waste water treatment & disposal systems
Major Responsibilities
* To conduct site survey, technical feasibility reports, preparation of sketches, technical specifications, bill of materials, cost / time estimation, scope of work for the execution of expansion projects, revamping projects, implementation of turn around maintenance projects, and major shut down maintenances in the gas plant and in oil flow stations.
* To organize and conduct pre-tendering site visits for the potential contractors to enable them to understand well about the project scope and site impediments if any before making their bid submissions.
* Technical appraisals of the bidders for contract awards for on going projects, procurement of equipment & spares and for other service contracts.
* To review all P & IDS / PFD S, detailed engineering drawings, vendor drawings before the commencement of the project.
* Checks and approves contractor's method statements, CVS, project schedules, construction equipment, tools and materials before site mobilization.
* Responsible for the planning and co-ordination of all manpower, equipment, materials and contracted services, co-ordination meetings, follow up installation, pre-commissioning check lists, debugging, commissioning and hand over the projects as per scope.
* To ensure strict implementation of the Company's HSE management system at all times.
* Analyze contractor's schedules and compare with project master schedule as to identify critical path and to take appropriate corrective measures in case of deviation. Monitor and deliver project progress reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
* To check and certify all claims of the contractor for milestone payments and passes to commercial section as to fulfill the contractual obligations.
Key Accomplishments
1.Successful installation and commissioning of Idu oil field, flow station reactivation project (50,000 BPD/ 40 million $US), expansion of Oshie oil field, flow station project (25,000 BPD/ 20 million $US), with strict adherence to HSE and quality norms in the capacity of team leader during the year 2003-2005.
2.Successful completion of Idu / Akri oil fields flow line laying projects 18 / 25 kms long followed by bush clearing, excavation, burying, back filling, provision of pipe supports wherever necessary.
3.Successful accomplishment of oil / gas pipeline spillage containment (up to 24" lines) under difficult working environments to control major pollutions with strict adherence to HSE policies in coordination with public affairs dept., safety & security team, contractors, production and in house maintenance team.
4.Successful on time completion of Change out programme of 3 nos. molecular sieve separators as a part of turn around maintenance plan that has been completed recently during Mar 2006 –Oct 2006, with the following major activities in the gas plant,
* Preparation of scope of work, bill of materials, cost / time estimation, technical appraisal of bidders for the selection of capable contractor.
* Preparation of blind list requirements for plant isolation using P & ID's, removal of used mol sieves, venting, N2 purging, etc., as to ensure gas free atmosphere for safe entry in to the system.
* Kick off meeting for the review of operational standards, safety instructions related to shutdown /start up activities, identification of equipment / tools required, mobilization of men and materials, and job execution.
* Removal of old molecular sieves and ceramic balls using a powerful vacuum pump and to collect in poly bags for safe disposal in the presence of HSE squad.
* N2 purging as to ensure acceptable LEL (Low explosion level) before the entry as to perform internal inspection of the vessels- visual inspection, UTM and die penetrant test.
* To effect necessary repairs on the damaged refractory lining embedded inside the side wall of the vessels, damaged screens, etc., as per procedures, replacement of damaged field instruments, repair or replacement of bad valves etc.
* Pressure testing of the vessels using Liq nitrogen at 90-bar pressure.
* Recharging of new molecular sieves, with ceramic balls, installation of screens and boxing up.
* Jet cleaning of associated fan coolers tubes, hydraulic testing, draining, Nitrogen purging, overhauling and resetting of all PSVs and field instruments in the system.
* Replacement of damaged thermal insulations, site cleaning and waste disposal
* Co-ordinate with production department for the preparation of commissioning checklist, removal of blinds & spades job completion and sign outs.
* Preparation of job completion certificate, contractors billing documents etc for settlement.
* Capturing, recording and updating job history records.
5.Technical and maintenance coordination in the capacity of Team leader for the successful on time completion of breakdown maintenance of 2 nos. Gas dehydration units-Glycol contactors, regenerators, flash drums etc., during 2005 Apr-Feb 2006
6.Performed turn around maintenance on 2 nos. C02 Absorbers, Regenerors and Reboilers in the CO2 removal plant during, 2004 Feb –Nov 2004
7.Performed Statutory inspection of 4 nos. NGL storage spheres followed by NDTs, hydraulic test etc., with strict adherence to HSEs, during May 2005-Sep 2006
8.Commissioning of 2 nos Demag Delaval (7350 KW) MP gas turbo compressors.
