I was tasked in 1996 to manage the development of a Design Change data base and ensure the configuration and testing process was completed on time and within budget.
I was also responsible for the procedural process for Change Control, concentrating on Design, Construction, Commissioning and impact assessment, monitoring all document change control aspects for the SDP Project at Sellafield, the value of this project was in excess of three hundred million pounds.*
I was also involved in the Project management, development and configuration of BNLF's Oracle based Electronic Document Management System.
* From June 1999 I managed the Electronic Scanning,Indexing and file cabinet reduction project, scanning and indexing up to a million hard copy engineering related documents. My duties included the Project management of the entire system and process, including development of all QA/QC Procedures noting the effect of the 1998 Data Protection Act and PD0008 'The legal Admissibility of Information Stored on Electronic Document Management Systems'. I managed the integration of bar-code technology, document indexing and scanning methods; the Project was completed on time and within budget.
* From August 2000, I managed a team of Document Controllers and Technical Assistants in the development and implementation of a Continual Operations and Safety Review (COSR) for all operational plants at Sellafield, ensuring registration, indexing, change control and retrieval was performed rapidly, efficiently and to a high standard.
* From March 2001 I was tasked with the review of 'Future Proofing' BNFL's corporate archives, this involved the review of current storage mediums i.e. microfilms, floppy discs, CD, VHS Video and DVD, and the use of next generation record management databases.
