* Corrosion and Electrochemistry; Corrosion behavior of materials, material selection (Stainless steel, Hastalloy, SAN 28, SAF 2205, Al-6XN, G30, Tantalum and other higher grade alloys) for specific environments, corrosion in organic media, high temperature and high pressure testing. Established a unique state-of-the art Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) and Slow Strain Rate Tensile testing (SSRT) and working on materials selections for coal gasification.
* Advanced Hydrogen Electrolyzer; Set up a world-class setup of 8-cell autoclave for conducting electrolysis of hydrogen in alkaline electrolyzer. Performed accelerated electrochemical degradation at various levels of current densities to study the long-term behavior of coatings, and proved its performance and reliability. This research work has been recognized by Popular Mechanics magazine's 2006 Breakthrough Award for its development of an advanced Hydrogen electrolyzer.
* Materials for SOFC cathode / anode (2005-2006); Executed work in a team environment to synthesize, characterize, and study electrochemical performance of next generation cathode materials for SOFC – Lanthanum Strontium Ferrites. Successful in identifying, evaluating and recommending promising cathode compositions to the cell / stack performance team. The project findings helped in choosing the next generation cathode materials set.
