JOB TITLE
Senior Reservoir Engineer
PERSONAL PROFILE
I have worked as a reservoir engineer for 9 years in different OPCOs for Wintershall AG. Working as a team member with other engineers, geologists and technicians to aggressively develop properties impressed me and accelerated my experience. I have attended many courses and been assigned to different locations in order to apply reservoir engineering, conducting reservoir studies including well log interpretation, decline curve analysis, pressure transient analysis, and reservoir simulation to optimize development (well spacing, completion techniques, infill drilling and horizontal targets) of key assets.
Personally, I am an energetic, highly motivated self starter. I perform effectively even within a highly pressurised working environment. I am proactive individual with a logical approach to challenges and am looking forward to continuing developing my career in the field of Petroleum & Reservoir Engineering.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Jan-04 to present Senior Reservoir Engineer
Libya N-field development project coordinator and focal point of N,P,T fields (E&P oil asset).
* Well Reservoir Engineering
1.Monitor drilling programs with respect to testing and completion and review proposed program/amendments.
2.Planning of surveillance programs, witness testing operations and open/cased-hole logging (RFT/MDT, PLT, TDT, etc¡K) on site and liaising with geologists, geophysicist and petrophysicist engineers and commercial managers in interpreting well-logging results to use for reservoir monitoring.
3.Design, analyze and interpret regular gradient, build-up, drawdown, multi-rate, interference tests, long term tests, fall-off test, DST, etc., using type curve methods and PANSYS software.
4.Investigate formation damage identification, mitigation and remediation.
* Reservoir Rock and Fluid Characterization
1.Plan and monitor progress of Conventional & Special Core Analysis, PVT sampling and measurements, evaluate and model the results, and implement them in the simulation using PVTi.
2.Used different approach (Hydraulic Flow Units) to select samples for SCAL measurements, the results used as an input to the numerical simulator to represent the reservoir characteristics.
* Reservoir Management
1.Illustrate suggestions and ways to improve the previous work done and comment upon reservoir studies, undertaking computer modeling for optimized development plans
2.Contribute in preparation of life of field sheet (LOF), operational planning, ICR, and annual reservoir status report to company headquarters.
3.Negotiate with and report to shareholders (NOC) to settle operations and plans.
4.Preparation of applications and acquisition of appropriate governmental approvals and maintain regulatory requirements for the various approved projects
5.Prepare technical documentation for last activities done and give presentations supporting company for NOC technical meetings.
6.Assist in preparing detailed integrated concession/field development plans.
* Field Reservoir Engineering
1.Worked on feasibility of water injection in N-field and Con.97 in general, commence related measurements & studies (eg. Rock mechanic, compatibility of water, etc..), design and supervise injectivity test programs for candidate wells.
2.Start a project to update N-field simulation model to look for any pressure maintenance means (EOR/IOR) in the field using ECLIPSE. For gas injection, the black oil model was converted to a compositional model and used for economics evaluations.
3.Used Material Balance spread sheet and Prosper/Mbal/Gap as a quick reference tools to generate the production profile and to assess un-simulated reservoirs (P,T fields).
Jan-02 to Jan-04 Reservoir Engineer
* Conducted reservoir simulation study for NorthSea off-shore gas reservoir (P14-a), to estimate GIIP, the aquifer strength from the available production data, provide production forecast for gas and liquid with respect to the increase in water production and to investigate the water zone. The effect of vertical communication (continuity of shale layers) and benefits of infill drilling was also tested in a simulator. Witnessed off-shore operations/tests and analyzed data of DSTs, 3-rate tests and regular pressure gradient surveys using PANSYS.
* Contribute in Nakhla reservoir characterization using a static-dynamic approach. The reservoir modeling of the flow units, in which geoscience, production logging and well testing have been integrated to reduce the uncertainty in each discipline. A diagnostic plot was developed for Nakhla wells to clarify the permeability contrast between transmissive and strorative units. The work led to an easier history match of the field's reservoir performance, permeability predictor for Nakhla wells was derived (already applied successfully on some wells).
* Examined several small oil pools in Siberia and Caspian Sea for Wintershall AG. for prospects of low risk oil development. Worked on open/cased hole logs evaluations, reserves estimation using conventional techniques (volumetric method, type curve and material balance) and production forecasting.
* Conducting a single-well and sector models from full field simulation models for fit-for-purpose investigations of a large tight gas condensate reservoir (Urengoy), and gas cond. with oil rim reservoir (Sukhovskaia).
Aug-97 to Dec-2001 Reservoir Engineer
* Engaged in reservoir simulation study of a carbonate oil reservoir (Hamid), including most phases of numerical simulation: data analysis and acquisition (open/cased hole logs, pressure transient, PVT, SCAL), model construction, up-scaling, history matching, using Eclipse100 black-oil simulator in order to estimate reserves, ultimate recoveries, water conning and prediction performance of the reservoir.
* Start using simulation modeling by updating Tuama reservoir model, history matching, performance prediction and sensitivities runs.
* Analyze and interpret regular static/flowing gradient survey, PI and 3-rate tests using PANSYS on fields Jakhira, As Sarah, Hamid, Tuama and Nakhla for H/V wells and hydraulic fraced wells.
* Witnessed testing operations and cased-hole logging on site.
* Used material balance and decline curve analysis for OIIP calculations and production performance forecast of Hamid and Tuama fields.
* Junior engineer rotations (headquarter and field).
