Project Details
The Instrument Landing System (ILS) is a pilot interpreted, precision aircraft navigational aid. It enables aircraft manoeuvring along the runway. It consists of two independent sub-systems, one providing lateral guidance (Localizer), the other vertical guidance (Glideslope or GlidePath) to the aircraft approaching a runway. Work involved annual maintenance of NORMARC ILS 7000 mainly the Remote Maintenance & Monitoring Software, defect rectification as and when it arose through checking of ICs on the V200 automated test equipment and report preparation as per ICAO 8071 (International Civil Aviation Organisation) and ISO 9001:2000 requirements.
Project Title: Maintenance of Navigational Aids at the International Airport, Goa

Project Details

The aviation navigational aids (Navaids) comprise of Commutated Aerial Direction Finder (CADF), Non Directional Beacon (NDB) and Distance Measuring Equipment (DME). CADF guides the aircraft pilot to make a controlled approach towards destination. The DME is collocated with an ILS and provides high accuracy distance information for approach and departure at an airport. The NDB is a radio transmitter that broadcasts continuously on a specific frequency which is received by the aircraft radio equipment and is used to determine the direction thereby guiding it towards its destination. This project involved annual maintenance of the Navaids, defect rectification as and when it arose through checking of ICs on the V200 automated test equipment and report preparation as per ICAO and ISO 9001:2000 requirements.

Project Details

The Flight Servicing Diary (FSD) is a microcontroller-based handheld device, the size of a PDA, used during routine checkups of the aircraft. This project involved design and development of the entire system comprising of the LCD display unit, battery charging unit and FSD–PC interface unit. As software engineer, work involved programming in Visual Basic 6 and assembly language for data transfer between PC and EPROM.
