ESCOM OCGT Plant Mossel Bay
August2006 to July2007
Contracted to Siemens Ltd as Site Manager for the Electrical installation of 3 Open Cycle Gas Turbines which drive 150 Mega Watt Generators. Initial scope of work was to supervise and control off loading of some 500 tons of equipment per unit into Siemens lay down area. The second shipment arrived some 4 weeks later followed by the third 5 weeks thereafter. Assisted by Safety and Quality Manager, Site Commercial, Sub Contractor and Siemens AG Electrical Installation Manager all planned project dead lines were met even though no project plan could be adhered to due to delays by civils. Daily activities included morning meeting with Siemens SSM, weekly report, and monthly progress claim. Staff recruitment escalated from 10 members to a peak of 158 as access and acceleration patterns had to be met. Some 110 km of cable were laid and 4000 termination completed. On completion of the bulk of contract Siemens Ltd were congratulated by D. Timm Siemens AG Electrical Installation Manager for a job well done.

S.A.B. Breweries Prospecton –Durban
January 2006 to July 2006
Contracted to S.A.B. via Dynotronics, immediate function was to take over daily maintenance of high speed beer bottling, pasteurising, keg, and packaging plant, there after plan and prepare and execute shutdown on line 6 3 5. Achieved status as 'Builder of the Week" a first for any contractor normally reserved for permanent employees.

Engen Oil Refinery –Durban
August 2005-to November 2005
Contracted to Kentz for the Clean Fuels Project, Inspect calibrate commission all Honeywell (Smart) flow, pressure, temperature transmitters, Fisher field view valves and positioners. This equipment was linked to the Honeywell TDC 3000 and ESD systems. My secondary function was "Selling" Loops or Pack's to the client, first to Fluor and then Engen. The project was run on a tight schedule and working 140 hours per fortnight was the order of the day, Kentz E&I were congratulated by the Client for a "first "in the history of completion ahead of schedule.

Senior Instrument and Electrical Technician.
Joined a Sugar Rehabilitation team that rebuilt a Sugar Mill in Tanzania – Kagera Sugar Mill. The Mill had been decommissioned 8 years ago, with great effort and perseverance the Mill was commissioned again in October 2004.
The system consisted of 3 Allen Bradley PLC coupled via Servo running an Adroit Scada Package.
The Mill also covered a wide range of Instrumentation as it consisted of 2 new Alstrom 75 ton/hour boilers plus 2 x 2.5 MW generator sets.
