The project is worth QR200 million employing a workforce of 300 employees to design and construct dock, crane handling facilities, boat ramp, sea water pump house. Q-Chem plant on completion produces ethylene, polyethylene and hexane).

DUBAI 2000 AIR SHOW PROJECT, DUBAI January – October 1999
As Site Safety Officer Responsible for administering Dubai Municipality's Code of Construction Safety Practice and Company's safety program. Conduct safety induction to new employees, weekly safety meetings with sub-contractor management, and supervisor/staff meetings. As the project is fast-track daily tool box talks, job hazards analysis are done. Weekly inspection of plant, lifting gear, hand/power tools, temporary electrics, fire extinguishers, scaffolding, excavation, PPE survey, hot works, floor opening, sanitation facilities, housekeeping, illumination and environment. Undertake accident investigations; prepare reports and corrective actions taken. The Project is worth Dhs.250 million to construct Exhibition Halls, Control Tower, Buildings (Reception, Royal Pavilion and Hangar) and asphalt roads. Peak time construction manpower totals 2,900.

OMAN LNG PROJECT, SUR, OMAN April – September 1998 HSE Officer
Duties include daily field monitoring, weekly audit, hazard observation and analysis, risk assessment. Check and certify vehicles, equipment and mobile / tower cranes with entry stickers. Ensure sub-contractors to comply with procedures. Conduct induction for new employees and monitor toolbox talks. Safety inspections include checking of scaffolding, excavation, color-coding of lifting gear, power tools, PPE, gas cylinders, fire points and housekeeping on site. Areas allocated are Utility, Condensate and NIB. Check camp hygiene, kitchen and accommodation. The project involved constructing LNG plant with train I and train II.

BROWN & ROOT SAUDI LIMITED
SADAF, AL-JUBAIL, SAUDI ARABIA February 1994 – May, 1997
Safety coordinator / Trainer
Co-ordinate with contractors on SADAF's safety procedures compliance and assist in their writing safety manuals, execution plans. Inspect / audit contractor activities related to safety daily and ensure corrective measures taken. During Ethylene Plant shutdown worked as Night Shift safety supervisor for a crew of 500 employees. Prepare audit deficiencies report (by areas and contractors wise) for follow-up by line management. This report indicates number of inspections, violations chart and classification of violations.
Conduct Accident Investigation not only for Lost Time cases but also for any near miss incidents and participate in investigation committee. Root causes are discovered and report prepared for circulation to all contractors for action.
Received training from SADAF to conduct training classes for contractors to accept work permits, to work as fire watch / hole watch. Training also includes use of SCBA, Cascade breathing airlines, fire extinguishers. Grade examination papers, interview trainees on key questions missed and database training records.
Participate in safety meetings / tool box meetings and assess the impact on employees. Also participate in contractors' safety commitment committees and report to management the committee's work. Prepare monthly injury / illness report based on OSHA200 log and man-hours statistics. Management presentation slides prepared from monthly reports. Database Hazard / Incident reports (include all unsafe acts and unsafe conditions observed by the Client, Managing Contractor and Contractor employees) and distribute. Conduct safety orientation to new employees and visitors. Maintain a log of Brown & Root inspection of heavy equipment, fire extinguishers and emergency assembly points. Act as base station coordinator during drills & emergencies.
The Project involved in construction of MTBE plant, expansion of Ethylene, Chlorine, EB Styrene and Utilities plant. The Project achieved 26 million man-hours without a fatality and major accidents.
