RECENT MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS ( 1997-2005)
ExxonMobil – Veba Oel – Nippon Oil. Lead well Site Geologist for drilling five deep succesfull exploration wells in the Cretaceous limestones and siliciclastic sediments of the Eocene in th lake of Maracaibo ( 3 of them higly deviated ), western Venezuela, using modern drilling techniques and advanced computer technologies (Landmark-Geologix). Lead well site Gologist supervising logging qc, lwd, mud logging, pore pressure calculations and control and the integration with drilling parameters. Oil and gas shows, formational tops identification, csg and coring points definition, basic petrophysical evaluations at the well site, pore pressure, cores/sws procedures and analisis at the well site, logging qc, data integration, daily reports and international daily teleconferences with the offshore management.

Software I used for this project
GEOLOGIX GEO for preparing a Well Site Geologist MASTERLOG with all the relevant information of the well been drilled samples description, Rate of penetration – weight on bit –mud weight, type of mud, Resistivity curve from LWD, formational tops, cores depth, oil shows, gas shows, pore pressure values, depth of fishes, sidetracks, kickoff point, angle of deviation
WINDOWS NT for incorporate Schlumberger logs curves and LWD curves to the WSG MASTERLOG and correlate with neighbore wells In order to have control of the stratigraphic position while drilling. EXCEL for preparing and handling tables with drill pipe information, mud weight, Rate of penetration, angle of deviation, formational tops
GEOLOGIX GEO for preparing basic petrophysical interpretations while drilling
MS WORD for preparing daily drilling report
INTERNET EXPLORER for sending daily reports and information tables to Houston
Daily teleconference with the Exploration Manager and Geoscience Specialists in the head quarter
Daily training to junior Geologists and mud loggers
Daily meeting wit the company man, tool pusher, mud men, labor people
Samples collection and description according to the American Association of Geologists (AAPG) standards
Core cutting and packing according to Exxonmobil standards
Schlumberger logging quality control according to Exxon protocols and standards
GEOLOGIX GEO for the final WSG MASTERLOG once each well was finishes

Conoco-Texaco-Jantesa. Support for the evaluation of twenty oil fields offered by PDVSA in the Third Round of Operating Agreements that conducted to the acquisition of a property in this Country with an investment commitment of US$ 50 MM and a production forecast above 20.000 BOPD in three years. I reviewed correlations, petrophysical evaluations, reservoir maps, x-sections and calculated reserves and estimate additional development for each field. I used software from LANDMARK and GEOQUEST for handling geological data and prepare reservoir interpretations. This work was done wit a team integrated for one Geologist, one PE, one Geophisycist and one supervisor.

Shell. Assignation in Shell Exploration E and P, Rijswik –Holland for the analisis of samples and cores from Africa and cores from the Bolivar Coastal Fild in Venezuela. Sedimentological and clastic environmental interpretations ( Heavy oil – steam soaking/driving) I prepared core description of 2 cores from Africa and 2 cores from Venezuela, made Gamma Gamma core log, made a sedimentological interpretation for each core and made graphic description with a SHELL LAB software I was trained for.

Union Pacific Resources. Advisory for the acquisition of mature fields in Venezuela. Regional settings and reservoir characterization of Eastern Venezuela oil fields and reservoirs. Production and reserves forecasting.
This work was done revieweing basic information that the company bought to PDVSA, logs, stratigraphic data, production tests. formation tests. reservoir maps seismic lines interpretations, regional geology published, tectonic framework prepared in our office for an specialist. LANDMARK was the software we used for the integration of the data.

PDVSA. ( 1970-1997) Lead Production Geologist for the exploration and development of several areas and fields in western and eastern Venezuela in order to find and produce gas, condensate, light or heavy oil in sandstones, limestones and igneous-metamorphic reservoirs, supervision of 22 rigs drilling shalow wells for heavy oil (including multilaterals ) and 10 rigs drilling deep wells ( Eocene and Cretaceous ). 80 wells in one year (est) From 1970 to 1980 I was a Well Site Geologist handling samples, foemational tops, csg and coring points, logging programs, logging qc, Dsts, shooting and oil production tests, core cuttings and description for GULF-MENE GRANDE in the eastern of Venezuela and TEXACO in western Venezuela
Supervision and control of several water flooding and steam projects.
