* Electrical Design Engineer (Work Descriptions): March 2004 up to present
* Prepare system design calculations, design details and general equipment layout according to standard and sound engineering practice.
* Prepare materials take-off, technical specifications, technical data sheets and bid price schedules.
* Design and evaluate FCRS Electrical System in our steam field and in power plant including high voltage switchyard (13.8/138kV).
* Provide technical assistance to various groups in the form of electrical studies (using EDSA, EASY POWER and SYNERGEE Electrical Simulation Softwares), cost estimates, technical reports, and related works.
* Evaluate technical aspects of bid offers and prepare evaluation reports.
* Review detailed electrical design of contractor (Fuji Electric) for all electrical aspects in the power plant, 138kV substation and Transmission lines prior to implementation.
* Monitoring on the implementation of the on-going construction of power plant (40MW), high voltage substation(13.8/138kV) and 138kV transmission lines.
* Inspect materials and equipment either at manufacturing facilities, delivery warehouse or at project sites.
* Provide technical assistance and monitor progress of installation works by contractors.
* Power plant detailed evaluations for all engineering calculations and specifications
* Attend coordination meetings with contractors and with other engineering disciplines.
* Detailed Design Review for our New 40MW Northern Negros Geothermal Power Plant.
* Member of the team who conducted Due Diligence for 192.5MW Geothermal Power Plants of National Power Corporation that are scheduled for privatization by the national government by the end of 2007.
* Punch listing, testing and commissioning (FCRS, power plant and substations).
* Act as Officer-in –Charge of Electrical Section during the absence of the Supervisor.
* Performed other duties which may be assigned by superiors form time to time.
Projects Handled in PNOC-Energy Development Corporation, Philippines
1. Fluid Collection and Re-Injection System (FCRS) Electrical Power Supply System for the new 40MW Geothermal Power Plant.
* Prepare technical specs, technical data sheets and materials take-off for all major equipment like ring main units (ABB, Alstom, Siemens, etc.), padmounted transformers (ABB), field panels (Taw Siemens, ABB), aluminum cable tray (Chalfant), ATS (ABB), floodlight, bulk head luminaire, dry type transformer (k-rated), UPS, power cables (tinned coated copper XPLE/PVC/SWA/PVC_Daiwon, Caledonians), etc.
* Prepare equipment lay-out for all equipment including overhead lines.
* Prepare calculations for grounding and cable tray loading.
* Prepare electrical studies using electrical simulation softwares (EDSA, EASY POWER, and SYNERGEE) for fault calculations, motor starting, transient, relay coordination, load flow studies, etc.
* Evaluate and approved fabrication drawings, proforma invoices and calculations submitted by the contractor prior to constructions.
* Inspection (local and foreign) of major equipment before delivery to the project site.
* Provide technical assistance and monitor progress of installation works by contractors.
* Punch listing, testing and commissioning
2. Power Plant (40MW Northern Negros Geothermal Power Plant)
* Evaluation of technical aspects of bid offer by the Japanese lone bidder (Kanematsu) before awarding the said project.
* Evaluation of detailed design and fabrication drawings prior to construction by the contractor (KANEMATSU/FUJI/TDK).
* Review detailed electrical calculations like cable sizing, interrupting capacity of the circuit breakers, voltage drop calculations, black start generator sizing for the power plant, transformer sizing (main and auxiliary x'mers), metering, cable tray loading, etc.
* Inspect materials and equipment either at manufacturing facilities, delivery warehouse or at project sites.
* Review of protection relay settings (overcurrent, overload/ underload, Generator/ transformer differential, overvoltage/ undervoltage, earth faults, distance, etc.).
* Review of the switchyard (138kV) equipment like Main transformer (13.8/ 138kV), breakers (Live/ dead tank breakers), arresters, earthing switch (motorized and manual), disconnectors, post insulators, metering, etc.
* Coordinate and discuss with Japanese contractor (Kanematsu) regarding various technical issues.
3. 40/30/86MW Nothern Luzon Wind Power Plant (NLWPP)
* Prepare design lay-out, technical specifications, technical data sheets for all electrical equipment in the wind farm, high voltage switchyard and transmission lines.
* System impact studies for the interconnection with grid.
* Evaluation of technical aspects of bid offers for wind farm and high voltage substation by the Japanese bidders (Toyota-Vestas and Kanematsu-Nordex).
4. 20MW Palinpinun Optimatization Geothermal Project
* Prepare design lay-out, technical specifications, technical data sheets for all electrical equipment in the power plant and switchyard.
* System impact studies for the interconnection with grid.
* Evaluation of technical aspects of bid offer by the Japanese lone bidder (Marubeni).
5. Assestment of the 125MW (Upper Mahiao) Geothermal Power Plant (BOT) in Leyte (Alreayd turned-over to PNOC-EDC from California Energy last July 2006).
* Assist the condition of major electrical equipment of the power plant (Turbine generator control – woodward 505, breakers, transformers, MCC's, switchgears (metal clad), relay (Basler), power cables, 230kV high voltage switchyard equipment, etc.
* Evaluate test results on the PMS conducted by the contractors for all equipment.
* Make immediate recommendations based on the results of the PMS to reduce downtime.
6. Assestment of the 180MW Mahanagdong and 225MW Malitbog Geothermal Power Plant (BOT) in Leyte (to be turned-over to PNOC-EDC from California Energy on July 2007).
* Assist the condition of major electrical equipment of the power plant (Turbine generator control – woodward 505, breakers, transformers, MCC's, switchgears (metal clad), relay (Basler), power cables, 230kV high voltage switchyard equipment, etc.
* Evaluate test results on the PMS conducted by the contractors for all equipment.
* Make immediate recommendations based on the results of the PMS to reduce downtime.
7. LGPF Alternative Power Supply Project.
* Prepare technical specs, technical data sheets and bid price schedule for major equipment (15.5kV and 4.16kV switchgear, padmounted transformer, bus bar extension panel, termination materials, etc.).
* Prepare materials take-off for its structure, staking sheets and lay-out for 13.8kV overhead distribution lines.
* Prepare detailed lay-out of major equipment at Electrical Building.
* Provide technical assistance during the implementation of the project
* Testing and commissioning
8. Pad 405 Conversion and PAD 403 Hook Project at 112.5MW Upper Mahiao, Leyte.
* Prepare technical specs, technical data sheets and bid price schedule for the equipment needed (breakers, field panels, timers, floodlights, bulkhead luminaries, other accessories).
* Prepare detailed lay-out (tapping point) of equipment and power cables for electric power supply of motorized valves, floodlights (RAB Lighting) and bulkhead luminaires.
* Inspection and testing of equipment before delivery to the project site.
9. Mahanagdong and Upper Mahiao Condensate Project.
* Prepare detailed technical specs, technical data sheets and bid price schedule for the major equipment like motor controller, medium voltage soft starters, relay (Multilin, REF, etc.), MCC (Siemens, ABB, etc.), termination works, etc. for three 630HP condensate pumps.
* Prepare detailed lay-out for equipment and power cables.
10. NNGP Perimeter Lighting Project.
* Prepare technical specs, technical data sheets and bid price schedule for the equipment needed (transformers, breakers, field panels, timers, floodlights, other accessories).
* Prepare detailed lay-out for location of equipment, foundations, poles, power cables, etc.
* Technical evaluation of bids for major materials (e.g transformer, poles, floodlights, cables, breakers, etc.)
