2006- PRESENT SENIOR EXPLORATIONIST, ENI NORGE AS

Interpretation of G&G data of operated blocks in Voring Basin of Mid Norwegian Sea. Fault Interpretation on time slices and 3D seismic interpretation in structural and sequence stratigraphic framework.

Follow up of geological and geophysical activities of two operated licenses in Mid Norwegian deep water offshore area. Identification of prospects by analysis of seismic attributes and mapping of DHI events.

Prospect risk evaluation and reserve estimation. Well correlation and post well analysis. Presentation of G&G activities to Partners during exploration committee meetings.

1994- 2006 SENIOR GEOPHYSICIST, ENI PAKISTAN LIMITED

I performed seismic modelling to review the seismic response to the thinning of gas sand reservoir in the Kadanwari and Miano gas fields. My modelling work demonstrated the problems inherent in predicting clastic reservoir from the seismic pick. I also performed geological modelling for prograding sand to test the seismic response of Sawan 3D data.

I have generated various structural and stratigraphic plays and prospects including clastic and carbonate reservoirs in both compressional and extensional tectonic areas.

I worked in New Venture areas, one of the area (Mubarak Block) of my new exploration work proved a commercial gas discovery.

Seismic Interpretation of tectonically complex area of Kirthar Foldbelt including Bhit and Badhra gas fields. My structural interpretation helped to locate various successful wells.

I stayed with seismic crews in Bela North, Kirthar, Kadanwari, Mubarak and Manchar blocks and reviewed and QC the acquisition & processing parameters testing.

I gained experience of designing checkshot/VSP surveys in the field and interpretation of VSP data.

AVO analysis and seismic inversion projects for reservoir characterization of clastic and carbonatic plays.

Reserves estimation and risk evaluation of identified prospects.

Structural and stratigraphic interpretation and seismic attribute analysis of Kadanwari/Latif 3D seismic data.

OVERSEAS ASSIGNMENTS

1999-Technical workshop to identify and evaluate prospects of Mubarak Block held at PETRONAS Charigali KL Office (Twin Towers) in Malaysia.

2001-I Kadanwari AVO modelling and seismic inversion project in LASMO plc London office. The results of these studies were published in our paper "Application of Relative Acoustic Impedance Inversion to Constrain Extent of E Sand Reservoir on Kadanwari Field", Ashley M. Francis and Fakhar H. Syed. SPE/PAPG Annual Technical Conference, November 7-8, 2001, Islamabad, Pakistan.

2002-I worked on AVO and Seismic Inversion Project with PETRONAS in K.L Malaysia. The results of this project greatly helped to assess Rehmat Appraisal well location.

2004-I worked with Fugro-Jason in Dubai on the seismic inversion project on carbonatic stratigraphic plays of Manchar Block.

2006-Depth Conversion Project, I worked with Depth Conversion Team in Eni Milan Office for depth conversion of Kadanwari TWT maps.

1991 – 1992 GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT, TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY USA
I worked as Graduate Research Assistant in Ocean Drilling Program at Texas A&M University, USA. My research work involved the interpretation of tectonic features of Leg 124 of the Ocean Drilling Program (ODP) using gravity and seismic data. I provided evidence for extinct spreading centres and extinct subduction zones in the Sulu and Celebes Seas and produced various models using gravity and seismic data to understand the tectonic evolution of study area.
