My position offshore during the hook up phase of the PA-B topside is a combined role involving:
1.Fulfilling the requirements to comply with the Russian Approvals process and Russian Federal Law – the General Designer Supervisor Role,
2.Senior AMEC Offshore Engineer and
3.Lead Structural Engineer
Duties Include:
- Leading a multi-discipline engineering team offshore during the hook-up phase.
- Delegation of onshore carry over scope to the offshore Engineering team.
- Providing Structural Engineering support to the offshore Hook Up and Commissioning (HUC) Team.
- Providing Structural assistance to and liaison with the Transportation and Installation Contractor (SHI and Saipem) and SEIC HUC Team during the post-mating phase (activation of Friction Pendulum Bearings).
- Coordinating offshore multidiscipline Engineering queries and either resolving them through the offshore team or liaising with the Engineering office in Jakarta.
- Carrying out inspections, surveys and reviewing key construction activities associated with the hook up in accordance with the ITPs to ensure that design intent is achieved.
- Maintaining all General Designer documentation required under Russian Federal Law
- Review and approval of offshore design changes.
- Provision of input for daily HUC reports and preparation of weekly Engineering reports for the Design office in Jakarta.

Senior Structural Engineer / Site Engineer
My position on site during the fabrication of the Lun-A and PA-B topsides and loadout frames is a dual role involving:
1.Fulfilling the requirements to comply with the Russian Approvals process and Russian Federal Law – the General Designer Role and
2.Structural Field Engineer
Duties include:
- Coordination, resolution and responding to structural site queries.
- Detailed Design and Preparation of Field Engineer Change documentation during fabrication of the topsides.
- Resolution of AFC documentation issues.
- Site Inspections, monitoring of fabrication, review of survey results and QA documentation to ensure design intent is adhered to.
- Working closely with Sakhalin Topsides Construction Team (STCT) Site Field Engineers and Samsung Fabrication Team to ensure timely participation of "Witness" and "Hold" points as defined in the Inspection and Test Plans.
- Provision of assistance to STCT during fabrication, jack-up and load out operations.
- Review and approval of design change requests from the fabricator.
- Participation in Structural Verification and Mechanical Completion Inspections.
- Offshore Structural Engineer for AMEC immediately after mating and during the initial hook-up of the Lun-A topside structure to the Gravity Base Structure (mid - June to end of July).
- Deputy Site Manager for AMEC responsible for the AMEC Support team on site (Nov 2006)

- Preparation and co-ordination of delivery forecast programs for the Lunskoye and Piltun topsides.
- Liaison with Tri-Ocean and reconciliation of interface details with the topsides. Supervision of the re-assessment of the fabricated Piperack Deck secondary steelwork.
- Review, assessment and response to site queries.
- Focal point for Lunskoye topsides close out engineering issues.
